Saturn's Core Audio & Video is a New Jersey based home video label devoted to releasing underground oddities and shot on video cinema on VHS, and now, blu-ray discs! In partnership with OCN Distribution, Saturn's Core will exhume forgotten or under-seen genre cinema from the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on SOV horror features. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!

A marauding, muscle-bound burglar named Frank the Tank violently invades the home of an elderly woman who promptly turns the tables; killing him with a shotgun and burying his corpse in her backyard before abruptly dropping dead from a heart attack. Several years later, a group of young friends unsuspectingly vacation together at the aforementioned beach house. When their new, witchcraft obsessed acquaintance Token attempts to conjure up a rain spell, she inadvertently brings Frank the Tank back from the grave. One by one the guests are gruesomely dispatched by the wise cracking, pizza-faced, undead burglar in a staggering flurry of maniacal murder and mayhem.

A seminal SOV standout from the early ‘90s mail order horror boom, Burglar From Hell built a dedicated following in the underground with its riotous mix of practical splatter effects, low-brow toilet humor, gratuitous nudity, and unexpected attempts at social commentary. An engaging time capsule of 1990s Queens, New York that is notable as the feature debut of indie scream queen Debbie D. (Eaten Alive: A Tasteful Revenge), Burglar From Hell helped put filmmaker Phil Herman (Tales Till The End) and his Falcon Video collective on the micro-budget map and continues to intrigue audiences with its endearing homespun charms and bewildering bouts of camcorder phantasmagoria.

Reviews

Pure SOV Comfort Viewing (Hard to Recommend, Easy to Enjoy)

"This is an extremely hard film to recommend objectively, as it sits deep in the amateur, no‑budget end of the SOV spectrum. That said, as someone with a soft spot for shot‑on‑video horror, this one scratches a very specific itch with its awkward charm and unintentional humor. I can’t honestly give it more than two stars, but fellow SOV fans may find it oddly funny and endearingly fun."

Amazing Saturn’s Core Release!!

"Glad to add this hilarious gem to my growing Saturn’s Core collection! Vinegar Syndrome never fails! Amazing slipcover art as well!"

John F. (5/5)

Simultaneously interminably boring and amusing

"It must have been the time period, but so many SOV movies just seem overlong. I think there was an expectation of a certain run length though most didn't have the plot to support it. This one certainly takes its time, but it offers up enough fun throughout that fans of SOV video can find strong points. You do have the very first movie (and great nude scene) from b-move starlet Debbie D. Funny dialog, but intentional and not. The best is the the diversion into the hood that takes an after school special turn. And the interviews on the disc with the director and Debbie D are both worth a watch. More special features I haven't explored yet. The slipcover art is pretty cool. So choose freedom of speech, order up a pie of pizza, give your complete belief, and choose to live as one, not as colors. And DON'T mix up your resurrection spell with your rain spell."

Dumb trash but oh so fun!

"I love this movie even if I can't explain why. Its the perfect SOV title with lots of ridiculous performances and situations. The very premise and the burglar himself are hilarious. Great disc with lots of worthwhile features. Love this dumb movie."
