Bill Martin has just finished construction on a picturesque new home for his family. But unknown to him, the previously barren property was once the site of the infamous Amityville murder house. After finding a small shed hidden away on the grounds, Bill discovers a beautiful and ornate dollhouse, which he gives to his young daughter as a present. What he doesn't realize is that this innocent looking children's plaything contains demonic powers, and it's not long before ghouls and zombies are invading his home, with their murderous sights set on his family.
The last and most over the top entry in the 90s Amityville franchise, producer Steve White (Cabin Boy) steps into the director's seat to helm this direct-to-video horror classic. "What an underrated series of movies"
"A slightly more interesting later period Amityville. Still not the best of the series. Decent transfer with a few informative interviews. Not the best release but if you love this series then you're going to get it anyway,"
"This Amityville sequel I think takes the cake as the creepiest of all of them. I'd recommend picking it up, along with the other ones. Transfer was great as usual."
"Great movie"
"I love this franchise. Not the best one but still a good effort."
"Amityville: Dollhouse, directed by Steve White, is the fourth installment in the Amityville horror franchise. This film takes a different approach from its predecessors by focusing on a cursed dollhouse that brings supernatural terror to a new family. The story follows the dollhouse’s disturbing influence as it begins to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting family living in a house built over the infamous Amityville property. White’s direction brings a fresh twist to the Amityville series by incorporating the eerie dollhouse element, adding a new layer of horror and dread. The film is characterized by its atmospheric tension and supernatural scares, though it may not reach the same level of intensity as the original Amityville Horror. "I'll admit I wrote off the 90s Amityville stuff and had only seen a bit of edited stuff in SyFy back in the day. Seeing the restored versions I can appreciate them far more as full fledged horror. Very glad I picked this up before going oop."
"By no means a great entry. Has a typical 90's direct to cable feel. It teases some things it doesn't have the guts to follow through on. As a release, the VS disc is good on a audio/video basis. There are a few interviews with behind the camera people, but I would have preferred some with the cast."
"It's a shame that the Amityville series "ended" here. They had a license to print direct-to-video money with the concept of a haunted artifact in each film. "The Conjuring" and its infinite spinoffs/sequels have since pulled off this artifact-cinematic-universe trick, but come one...you want the original recipe. You want dudes in cheesy demon costumes bursting out of walls. You want latex and corn syrup effects you can smell coming off the screen. You want to watch that silly dollhouse light up from within with non-CGI light as mayhem erupts all over another poor artifact-infected family. Go for it."
"Watched this one with the family. Very happy for this camp, fun, and entertaining horror movie getting the vinegar syndrome service- the restoration is amazing. While far from an Oscar winner, it is fun enough for a buy"
