Architect Larry Andrews and his glamorous wife, Barbara, have just arrived on a Filipino island where Larry, and his business partner Del, are completing work on a new luxury condominium building. Del reveals that he's found them the perfect island home: a centuries old mansion nestled next to the forest. The only problem is that local legend has it that the mansion is haunted by an evil witch named Alma Martin, who was murdered by her adulterous husband, only to rise from the dead and kill him, along with anyone else who comes near her cursed property. As the Andrews settle in, Barbara begins to sense a strange presence surrounding the house and is slowly possessed by Alma's vengeful spirit, who is determined to use Barbara’s body as vessel for her to re-enter the world and soon demonstrates that she has no concerns over murdering anyone who tries to stop her.
The second film directed by Herb Freed (Graduation Day), BEYOND EVIL is a gothic inspired supernatural horror film, taking liberal inspiration from the castle-set Italian chillers of the 60s, but with a healthy dose of early 80s sleaze, including creative kills and outrageous optical effects. Starring John Saxon (Black Christmas) and Linda Day George (Pieces) and featuring a lush score by Pino Donaggio (Dressed to Kill), Vinegar Syndrome is proud to bring BEYOND EVIL to Blu-ray, newly restored in 2k from 35mm archival film elements.

"A married couple buys a house and it ends up being haunted. There's really nothing special but all in all its a decent 80s film. You won't get much bloody happy fun but you'll be entertained by this films crappy acting, hood rat ghetto ass special effects and it's over used and abused conception of possession. This movie isn't great but could do worse."
"Excellent release. The presentation is strong, the disc looks great, and it arrived safely and well packed."
"Decent film with some good actors hamming it up. Great transfer too"
"Three things you'd never think of all in one film. I doubt you'll EVER see a better presentation of this movie."
"John Saxon and Lynda Day George in a low budget horror film. A little rough around the edges at times, but very enjoyable!"
"The performances were crazy and overdone. This has a lot of melodrama you can expect from a schlocky b movie. It was a decent flick and if you pick it up you might have fun watching it. Worth effing to the collection of you enjoy b films."
"Highly recommended for the cast alone. Queen Lynda Day George and Kill John Saxon!"
"Saw this was going OOP so I took a chance and picked it up. It’s a pretty nice release, I like the artwork and it has some special features. If you want it, get it before it’s gone."
"Fantastic restoration and transfer of this 1980 horror gem! Must see for fans of the genre! 4/5 stars!"
