For years Roscoe (Joe Spinell) has been the town undertaker. However, inside his funeral home, he's been amassing a bloody collection of human souvenirs, which he uses in unspeakable acts of violence and perversion. When some townspeople begin to disappear under strange circumstances, Roscoe's nephew starts to grow suspicious of the goings on at his uncle's funeral parlor. "The Undertake is the type of film you watch if you want to cheer for the bad guy because you always cheer for Joe Spinell, am I right? No matter how hideously creepy and sweaty his brow is, no matter what dark, grotesque things he's up to. . . you love him. He was a one of a kind talent. There's an authenticity to the roles he brought to the screen. Deep down, you knew he was a nice guy in real life, just trying to pay the bills. This movie is him doing what he did best, act like a completely unhinged lunatic and prove his loneliness by collecting bodies to be his friends. It features a slew of bare-breasted babes and the special effects are awesome. It's a shame six minutes were missing from the original 35mm camera negative but bless the saints at Vinegar Syndrome for including the footage back into the picture, albeit from a grainy VHS workprint. It ain't supposed to be a pretty movie, anyway!"
