Come for John Cassavetes
"Movie: This movie has some solid elements but didn't really manage to bring them together in a satisfying enough way for me. John Cassavetes is giving an impressive performance, but it's not quite in step with everything else. There's a lot of frustrating bafflement, where characters keep making decisions that don't seem to have enough justification. On top of that it takes the movie way too long to bring up the topic of what an Incubus is, and why characters should believe that an Incubus is what's behind the murders. Then when it does there's no explanatory lore drop to contextualize what's been going on. Thankfully the SA, while explicitly talked about, is not shown in graphic detail. Drinking game trigger is whenever a character says "sperm", which happens more than I was expecting. Extras: Three solid interviews, plus it's always nice to have the trailer, let alone TV spots. The alternate cuts were shorter than expected, maybe only a minute or two. Packaging: Really great slipcover, and bonus points for reversible inner cover."
