Fred and his wife Janet have been experiencing problems in their marriage. But when she refuses to help him fund the building of a rural resort and, subsequently, reveals that she's had an affair, Fred snaps, staging a car accident on a country road and leaving Janet for dead. What seems like a perfect crime, disguised as an accident, is spoiled by the unexpected arrival of Al, an innocent passer-by who, in his attempt to save Janet, quickly finds himself fingered as the most likely suspect in her murder...

A riveting and criminally under-seen Hitchcockian thriller, prolific NFB short films director Brian Damude's SUDDEN FURY ranks as one of the finest forgotten films to emerge out of Canada's mid 70s tax shelter era. Fabulous Thriller!

"An incredibly eerie, creepy, and suspenseful release from Vinegar Syndrome! This film packs a superb cast and stellar practical effects - about to go out of print so do yourself a favour and don’t miss out on this film. The restoration is incredible, and I noticed no inconsistencies with the video or audio - as shown in the screenshot colours pop in this release! As always shipping and packaging was flawless from Vinegar Syndrome! Grab this film while you can or regret it!"

Sudden Fury Blu-ray

"This was a fun little '70's thriller from Canada about a husband that takes advantage of a car accident and suddenly decides to kill his wife. Things don't go as planned and he is found out when he seeks help at a nearby farm. The story was interesting, , the acting was good, and the movie held me to the very end."

David L. (4/5)

Fantastic movie, actually really good!

"This is honestly a GOOD movie, I can't believe it's not more well known, it has a fantastic plot that keeps you guessing, one of my favorite non-horror VS releases. The restore is amazing as always, movie looks brand new."

Ryan H. (5/5)

Great 70s thriller that more people need to see.

"Great thriller! With a great plot too, the storyline has many twists and turns to it that it will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. More people need to pick this one up, could also see this film getting a remake though probably wouldnt ever happen. Maybe in the future a 4k ? Would be a great way to get more people to buy this film as more people need to see it."

Shotgun blues

"This releases gets a lot of buzz online. I had high expectations coming in and felt it didn’t quite meet those expectations. It was still enjoyable and the performances were spot on. The ending wasn’t for me, but I get why they went in that direction."
