Martel "Too Sweet" Gordone (Leon Isaac Kennedy) has just been paroled. Trying diligently to stay out of trouble, he rekindles an old fling with his former girlfriend Clarisse and begins a job as a delivery roller-skater. But when his prison arch nemesis, Half Dead, breaks out of jail and murders Clarisse, Too Sweet is forced to return to his old life and seek vengeance the only way he knows how...

Co-starring Ernie Hudson (THE HUMAN TORNADO & GHOSTBUSTERS) and the one and only Mr. T (THE A-TEAM & ROCKY III), Jamaa Fanaka's sequel to his acclaimed 1979 classic, PENITENTIARY II ups the intensity, ferocity, and outrageous action of the original. Vinegar Syndrome brings this early 80s action classic to Blu-ray, newly restored from its original 35mm camera negative and packed with explosive extra features.

Packs a Punch!

"This movie is an awesome sequel and it looks even more awesome in this release!"

Sean H. (5/5)

Another trip to the joint!

"This was a blind buy, but I had survived 1 & 3 previously. The first is grisly and less fun, 3 is insane and more fun (drooling for its release), but 2 is almost just right! Insane acting, insane boxing, insane casting, insane 80s look and feel, Mr Ts smoking lamp, its a perfect mix of low budget sports revenge fantasy, a Rocky II for the real underclass. Its an on-camera party that is often wild and out of control, but releases all the right chemicals. Special features arent as fullfilling but at least exist"

Kevin G. (4/5)

A totally worthy sequel -

"A totally worthy sequel - even more fun than the first film. I'm quickly becoming a big Jamaa Fanaka fan!"

Matthew P. (4/5)

Too Sweet

"This is a case where the sequel is as entertaining as the original - Mr. T features heavily in some of the artwork and he does play a good role, though Ernie Hudson really shines as a creep. Keep an eye out for Rudy Ray Moore, too."

Ed G. (5/5)

Too Tough to Quit

"Mr. T meets underground boxing in this gloriously gritty sequel. A time capsule of raw 80s energy and blaxploitation flair, boosted by a vivid transfer and killer slipcover. Vinegar Syndrome delivers the one-two punch."

Thomas L. (5/5)

Penitentiary II

"The awesome Star Wars narrative prologue that slowly crawls up the screen in case you did not see the first film, really sets up Penitentiary II as a film unlike others. I saw this in high school and thought it had the most disturbing rape scene because it's Ernie Hudson (Winston from Ghostbusters) doing it to our protagonist's throwaway girlfriend. Mr. T returns to the boxing ring after doing Rocky III, while rubbing a genie lamp to release a cloud of smoke, and he's a big highlight. Not very memorable film, but worth checking out."

Fun, grittier boxing sequel

"In the sequel, we follow the lead character's story after he is released from the penitentiary and trying to get on with his life, and things go horribly wrong, forcing him to box again. Great audio and video quality, with a of extras. Neat artwork on the and reversible sleeve."

Kresh R. (4/5)

Too Sweet!

"Boy I was rooting for too sweet but there were so many times he let ME down. It all worked out in the end (barely) so I give him a pass"
