Showgirl Rosie Valez (Divine; Pink Flamingos, Polyester) is making her way through the New Mexico desert to the small pioneer town of Chile Verde. But when she falls off her ass, accidentally spilling her gin in the process, Rosie is left stranded in the desert with nothing to drink. Left to fend for herself, she soon meets desperado Able Wood (Tab Hunter; Damn Yankees), and the two of them head west for Chile Verde. Upon arriving, Rosie discovers that she and Marguerita Ventura (Lainie Kazan; My Big Fat Greek Wedding), the town Madam, each have a unique tattoo on their posteriors, which they discover might be a treasure map leading to the region's mythic gold cache...

"List in the dust may not be the absolute peak of cinema, but what it is is a really solid comedy and an awesome release from vinegar syndrome! I think this one is OOP but well worth picking up if you find it"
"10/10 comedy"
"Ok"
"Fun silly movie."
"A campy, lusty good time."
"Very *very* underrated, distinctly Paul Bartel film. I remember prior to it hitting DVD, there was a looooong stretch of it being out of print and not at any of my local rental stores, or in any cinema for a screening, so I didn't see it until tracking down a former VHS rental copy. I recall enjoying it, not on the level of Divine's other starring comedy roles, but it was alright. Fast forward to today and I've just watched the excellent Vinegar Syndrome release and WOW this absolutely rules. I understand why someone expecting a John Waters take on a western would be turned off by this, but Waters isn't the auteur at the helm. It's Paul Bartel, an incredibly funny incredibly distinct director. If you like Bartel's style, there's a lot here to love. As wholesome as raunchiness gets, it's really a fun underground humor take on the western genre. You have an amazing cast of characters joining Divine here, their former 'Polyester' co-star Tab Hunter, the diabolical Henry Silva, the clown prince Cesar Romero and the perfectly captivating Lainie Kazan. It's so much fun, a great western for Pride month. The fabulous Vinegar Syndrome blu ray contains 4k restorations from the original narrative (the disc has the 1:85.1 aspect ration that the director wanted, as well as the 2.35:1 from the 2001 release which is not ideal but here for completion sake) as well as a hoot of an archival featurette that has vintage recordings from everyone in the film and some not - such as Edith Massey's audition. If you've been avoiding this based on word of mouth, give it a shot knowing you're getting a Divine-lead western from the guy who made 'Eating Raoul.' Highly recommended."
"This is the western spoof you never knew you needed. The characters are all hilarious, and have never looked better than on thus release. This work of masterful cinema has an excellent array of special features, too, pardner."
