Esteemed parapsychologist Dr. Werner Vogler has come to the castle home of Mrs. Rezzori, a beautiful but irascible wheelchair-bound aristocrat, to practice his famed energy healing on her. Arriving on the grounds, Vogler is immediately struck by the sense that something dreadful once occurred at the castle, and he soon learns that its abandoned wing is rumored by locals to be haunted. Sure enough, as his stay progresses, the doctor begins to be assailed by gruesome visions of a frenzied stabbing and a ghoulish figure in a wheelchair. With the aid of a local journalist and Mrs. Rezzori’s estranged cousin, Micaela, Vogler starts to unravel the castle’s ghoulish past - unwittingly setting in motion a horrifying and bloody series of events.

Produced as part of a series of direct-to-video horror movies distributed under the banner of “Lucio Fulci presents” to capitalize on the Italian Godfather of Gore’s name, 1989’s BLOODY PSYCHO stands as one of the most downright entertaining entries in the cycle, serving up an assortment of brutal supernatural slashings alongside a healthy dose of sexual intrigue. Helmed by director Leandro Lucchetti (Apocalypse Mercenaries) and reuniting actors Brigitte Christensen and Marco Di Stefano from the previous year’s Blood Delirium, the Italian horror hounds at Vinegar Syndrome are delighted to let BLOODY PSYCHO loose in its world UHD premiere, restored in 4K from its original 16mm negative and stacked with a host of brand new bonus features.

directed by: Leandro Lucchetti

Fulci Lives! And Presents!

"Second release from the Lucio Fulci presents series of tv movies produced towards the end of the great mans life presented here in a beautiful print. Fun movie for fans of all things Italian horror!"

Harry F. (5/5)

Escape From Death

"Great release for this cult italian horror TV movie."

PATRICE C. (5/5)

it ain't the best, but

"I like it. For me, it's got the clunky charm of so many late '60s & '70s horror movies that play more melodramatic. Of course, ESCAPE. . . does offer a handful of Fulci-esque violent bits. Plus, how can I be anything but satisfied by the weird Solly subplot? The disc looks good, showcasing thick grain & strong colors. I opted for the alt. slip & I'm happy to own this disc."

Isaac W. (4/5)

Maggot toothpaste!!

"Another Lucio Fulci presents and I don't know what the complaints of boredom are about because I thoroughly enjoyed this one and it had more gore than I expected. It was better than the last one (Massacre) in my humble opinion anyway. The story was great and kept me hooked (is that the real Larry or not)?! I think not. Good twists and turns and gore. I do recommend. And Zora Kerova really looks like Daria Nicolodi in this one! Prove me wrong. The maggot toothpaste scene was the grossest thing I've seen in a while!"

Jason R. (5/5)
