When wealthy, eccentric Lord Arnold Dwellyn dies, his funeral also doubles as a wedding: Arnold gets hitched to his mistress Karen, who will inherit his vast estate...if she agrees to meet several conditions. This includes remaining in his mansion with Arnold’s corpse by her side. Karen—along with Arnold’s ex-wife, his brother, and several members of his family—are unhappy with this arrangement, but desperate to get their hands on Arnold’s vast wealth, which allegedly includes a pile of money hidden somewhere on the grounds. But as each of the guests attempt to break or subvert the conditions of Arnold’s will, the consequences end up being lethal and Karen finds herself caught up in a series of grisly murders. Has Arnold returned from the dead to take revenge on his greedy loved ones, or is there a living, breathing killer lurking around the mansion?
With a stacked cast of Hollywood legends including Norman Stuart, Stella Stevens, Elsa Lanchester, Roddy McDowall, and Farley Granger, among others, ARNOLD, is a glorious nod to the old dark house chillers so popular during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Director Georg Fenady offers a tribute to everything from the lush early Hammer horrors to Roger Corman’s colorful cycle of gothic thrillers, with an extra helping of macabre humor, all filtered through a 70s drive-in movie sensibility. Vinegar Syndrome is delighted to present the Blu-ray debut of this delirious B movie treat, freshly restored in 4k from its 35mm interpositive!

I Enjoyed This One!
"the slipcover is really cool, and this fun flick has lots of entertainment value throughout the entire effort as well as some funny gags! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

At least there is Stella
"This mostly forgotten unfortunately not very funny comedy does have a decent setup. And there are a variety of kills that occur throughout, the best being the killer suit that takes out Roddy McDowell. You can revel in the awful theme song, or get a laugh from it. The best thing about the movie is Stella Stevens, who is a delight to look at throughout, at least. A cute busty barmaid is also fun. Very nice slipcover art. But this movie just didn't deliver comedy wise what it attempted, in my opinion. As it never even got a DVD release, that this made it to blu-ray looking so good is a plus."

Preposterous Horror Comedy
"This movie's premise is absolutely bonkers. You have a mistress marrying a dead guy that's already married to cut the wife out of the will? Does that make any sense? Well, that's just one of the nonsensical elements of this film, but the crazy thing is: I still enjoyed it. Stella Stevens looks beautiful in it as the lead, and she does the best she can with what's given. It reminded me a lot of an episode of the Twilight Zone told badly, but it's a worth a look."

An under seen gem
"This release is a glowing example of the high quality Vinegar Syndrome puts into their releases. A beautiful restoration makes this under seen gem a must watch for film fans. Not to mention the cool art work that adorns the slipcover."
— Mark H. (5/5)
Well written horror comedy.
"The movie surprised me. It was well-written and it was based on a novel concept, namely, marrying a dead guy. It went over well with my wife as well."
— Alain P. (5/5)

"Oddball little comedy, starring one of my fav actors in Roddy McDowell. Came with a beautiful slip"
— Arthur C. (4/5)
Sleepy gothic comedy with some
"Sleepy gothic comedy with some decent bits, but wanted nastier kills. Maybe less off the cuff immediately. Good quality tho!"
