Shot for $2000 on video in the enchanted forests of Florida, WAY BAD STONE is the unofficial Dungeons & Dragons adaptation that you've been waiting for. The story follows Aladar, a wizard seeking revenge against a gang barbarians—and one demon—who stole a magic stone. Directed by Archie Waugh and co-produced/written by Jan and Janne Skipper, this bewitching passion project features raucous Ren Faire dialogue, splattery violence, and a powerful dungeon synth soundtrack. The real D&D movie

"No budget D&D movie made by what feels like students from a pro wrestling training school. Even has a Gangrel vs Zandig fight"

"Impressive fantasy film with an entire extra sci-fi film by the director in the extras."

    Miles M. (5/5)

    Dungeons and Dragons Bloodbath!

"When this film was being made, I was just a kid, hanging out with my Uncle, who used to take me to D&D with him in New York. I never played it outside of maybe Eye of the Beholder for SNES, but I remember clear as day the way those D&D sessions used to go, and wow did this movie bring me right back to that. For all its low budget this movie really does feel like a D&D adventure, from the intentionally hammy dialog to the intentionally hammy acting. And the quest feels like a short game that might have been played. Every actor gives it everything and the energy really shows. This is a really fun movie! And the last 30 minutes goes all out gonzo in the action and gore department. It's hard to believe this was made on 2 grand. The only thing showing the budget is the SOV look. But even that isn't enough to hurt the movie. If anything it gives it a certain raw edge. This release comes with a lot of fun stuff to digest, interviews, and even another movie! Well worth the investment. But honestly, get this release for the movie. This is truly a grade Z gem! One of the very best SOV films I have ever seen."

    Backyard lo-fi Gygax-youth campaigning straight

"Backyard lo-fi Gygax-youth campaigning straight to your heart. Seriously, this movie is a lot of fun and you tell everyone had a lot of fun making it. Another excellent Bleeding Skull release."

    Michael C. (5/5)

    way good stone!

"Nice re-discovery: high fantasy, creative, low budget. Disc does it proud."

    Kevin F. (5/5)

    Highly entertaining film.

"Bleeding Skull gives this highly entertaining flick the star treatment. Packed with great action sequences and a cast of colorful characters, this film is just waiting to be discovered."

    Mark H. (5/5)

    Good times. . . on a budget.

"One of the more fun SOV movies. In a sub-genre dominated by gory horror slashers this fantasy cheapie makes for a nice change of pace."

    Michael B. (5/5)

I kinda want to make a movie now!

"This is the sort of flick that isn't amazing in the technical sense, but man does it have a ton of heart and soul! If you love D&D and/or LARP, then this is for you!"

    Forrest M. (5/5)

    Lovable DIY oddity

"A scrappy, homemade genre movie with way more heart than budget. The rough edges are part of the charm, and it feels like pure regional/outsider cinema. Vinegar Syndrome’s release treats it seriously, which makes it even more fun to discover."

    Thomas L. (5/5)

    Fun!

"I liked the second feature on this disk even more than the main feature, which was also good."
