Eva has been paraplegic for the past three years. When her birthday arrives, she receives a strange advent calendar as a gift. But instead of the traditional sweets, every day reveals something different; sometimes pleasant but often terrifying, and increasingly bloody. It’s going to be a very deadly Christmas this year.

"Christmas horror can be hit or miss but I really enjoyed the premise and execution of this one. The great packaging doesn’t hurt either."

                      Christmas Time Horror

"This is a pretty solid movie if you're looking for something new to watch at Christmas time. I'm always trying to find different Christmas themed horror movies, and this one has quite a few moments of dread in the picture. The CGI in it is not great so it gets a slight downgrade for that but all in all I enjoyed this for what it is."

                      Nathan L. (3/5)

                      Great slip, fun flick

"Fun watch. . creepy feel. It lost a bit of tension half way. . it could be better if it was 10/15 minutes shorter. . . but that is got a lot with horror these days. Still a must have and watch if you like (shutter and) holliday themed horror. ."

                      Richard J. (4/5)

                      Holiday fun

"It’s been a while since I watched this, so my memory isn’t fresh on detail. I know that i enjoyed the movie, and it had a very creepy atmosphere throughout. The lead actress was outstanding in her role. Picture quality was very good, and the limited slip was very nice too!"

                      Ted A. (5/5)

                      ooooh this was good

"Sometime blind buys turn out to be bloody good buys. This had suspense, gore, and a very good story behind it all."

                      Randy F. (5/5)

                      Great concept and one of

"Great concept and one of the more interesting recent horror films even if I think they could have done a little more with the elements at play. I’m am a sucker for holiday horrors though so it gets extra points there. As for the disc itself, PQ and AQ are all great, which extras are okay if not a bit light. Slipcover is also nice if not amazing. An overall solid release"

                      Kyle C. (3/5)

                      Countdown to Christmas

"I've been doing less blind buys lately so I watched this one on shudder before deciding on pulling the trigger. Which obviously I must have liked it because here's my review for my purchase! I did really enjoy this movie! Premise that could have gone terribly wrong. Just worked for me. Very light on special features but there is a booklet. And a beautiful slipcover."

                      The Advent Calendar

                      Mitch O. (5/5)

                      French horror via Shudder

"Just your typical story of a paraplegic former dancer who gets a wooden advent calendar that gives her a treat each day that will significantly impact her life for better or worse. Some monkey’s paw sort of stuff going on but with a unique updated take. I enjoyed."
