In their first ever feature documentary nearly sixty years after they met as teenagers before the British Invasion music scene, THE ZOMBIES tell their story of navigating the tumultuous music industry over the decades and making one of the most influential albums of all time, Odessey and Oracle. “She’s Not There” made them the first British band after The Beatles to reach #1 in the US. After years of touring and many missteps in the 60s, sadly the band missed out on their biggest moment yet, when “Time of the Season” hit #1 and became a global success, inspiring new generations each year. The band looks back on their journey, where true friendship led them to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This is a great dive

"This is a great dive into one of the most underrated 60s bands The Zombies. I saw them maybe a decade back in Toronto with all the surviving members and I must say it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. They were all so nice after the show and signed my vinyl. I still cherish it. Great sound and picture and the Q and A was fascinating too."

Zombie Doc.

"I will start by saying I love The Zombies. I've been listening to their music for as far back as I can remember, so this was a day 1 buy. While this documentary was pretty informative, it felt underwhelming to me. I'm sure it could be fascinating for plenty of others, though. The sound and picture are fine, and the slipcover does look awesome, 8/10"

Inspiring Music Doc

"Hung Up on a Dream: The Zombies Documentary is a warm and engaging look at the long, winding journey of British rock band The Zombies, blending archival footage, great music, and honest reflections from the band members themselves. It beautifully captures not just their hits and near‑misses but also the deep friendship that’s lasted for decades, making you feel like you’re right there with them through every twist and turn. For both longtime fans and casual music lovers, it’s an uplifting and heartfelt story about passion, persistence, and the power of a great song."

"I bought this for my dad as a Christmas gift and he was stoked. We got to see them play once, so it was a sentimental purchase and it's a great release! The art style on the packaging is really nice, plus the special features were fun to watch. Highly recommended for fans of the band."

Great story

"Excellent documentary on a band that didn’t get as much acclaim as some of the more popular bands of the period, but nonetheless over the decades their mark on the history of music is very relevant. Touches well on the friendship aspect of the band mates too. Another excellent release from Utopia!"

"An excellent documentary about an innovative, remarkable band. Intriguing and captivating. Great picture and sound. Groovy slipcase. The only quip is have is I wish the film had been longer. Even so, two thumbs up! A+ :)"

Great Zombies Documentary

"Glad to add this documentary on the 60s rock group The Zombies to my collection. Very well done; this will get re-watched many times."

Who’s your daddy?

"Solidly directed classic rock doc about some nice old British guys who got a raw deal back in the 60s. It’s fun and well told and involves multiple fake bands posing as the Zombies. Worth watching just to see septuagenarian Colin Blunstone still nailing the same vocals he recorded 50 years ago"

Christopher N. (5/5)

Great doc
