This special limited edition spot gloss slipcover (designed by Haunt Love) is limited to 2,000 units and is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.

Umbrella Entertainment has been a 100% Australian-owned and operated distributor for over 20 years. Their vast home entertainment catalogue features an extensive range of Australian classic, cult and exploitation films restored under the eyes of the original filmmakers. All sourced from national archives, underground collectors and local basements.

In the fast lane world of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll, Dominic Black (David Clendinning), a millionaire entrepreneur, reins supreme. Bored with the usual showbiz diversions, he prefers to indulge in playing elaborate mind games – and making movies where the performers end up dead!

After a documentary cameraman (Lou Brown) and his journalist girlfriend (Jennifer Cluff) witness one of Dominic’s party guests being hunted and killed in a chilling, hallucinatory chase, the immoral tycoon fears they may have captured the shocking event on film.

He lures the inquisitive pair to his luxury Surfers Paradise penthouse for a weekend of cat-and-mouse games where there are blood splattered bodies in the pool, on the balcony and in the cupboards… but in this complex, deadly nightmare, nothing is what it seems.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of sundrenched beaches and glittering blue seas, this little seen psychological thriller (from the writer of FANTASM) delivers non-stop twists and turns in a violent, flesh-filled tale of voyeurism, pornography, snuff films and complex human manipulation.

                            Reviews

                            Final (life) cut

"This classics looks better than ever, seems that a shoestring budget triggers cinema creativity. This goes about an evil filmmaker who likes to produce movies where the actors may end dead! A thriller in the old fashioned way. As usual, great transfer and audio & video presentation. Recommended!"

                            Carlos R. (5/5)

                            Wonderfully Nasty Ozploitation

"It's a mystery to me that this title has moved so slowly. Still, I'm glad I finally put it in my cart last sale. Cinema tends to be more unsentimental Down Under, thrillers and horror playing an especially rougher game. Final Cut is a worthy addition to the murderer's row. The picture quality is striking and possibly the best it's ever looked. (Especially when compared to the VHS experience in the extras!) Rounding everything out is an audio commentary, visual essay, stills, and a booklet with an introduction and a brief history of Ozploitation golden age that reads like juicy production notes. And it's all wrapped in a sleekly sleazy slip, plenty of which are still available. Go on and get gone! They got heaps."

                            Shawn P. (5/5)

                            Decent Aussie Flick

"Picked this one up on sale, solely based on my love for Australian flicks. It’s not bad, but not great either. The transfer is solid, artwork and packaging is great, and includes a few informative extras. Overall recommended!"

                            Matthew L. (3/5)

Murky plot but a great release

"The plot here stays murky till the last 10 minutes or so, there doesn’t seem to be much of a plot till then. It busies itself with a lot of female nudity - nothing explicit, just a LOT of T&A - instead of building a plot. This really seems more like a “rough cut” than any Final Cut. But - the obnoxious co-lead character stays amusing, if not quite interesting, and the party girls as a plot device does keep things moving. The male co-lead, Lou Brown, does some good work here, but he doesn’t have anything quite specific to work with. It all stays vague, till its wrap-up. Visually, it has some nice scenery from Surfers Paradise, some interesting vintage cars and fashions - if only as antiques. Its sex scenes are boring, especially the ‘lesbian’ fare, and while it tries to manipulate the viewer with “mystery”, it instead just renders as blah. It’s not a *bad* movie, but it doesn’t work much to demand attention."

                            Donald M. (4/5)

                            Nice smooth transaction

"Good general quality for a blu ray transfer Nice thriller this one a little hidden gem Good restoration"

                            Peter F. (5/5)

                            Final Cut

"A weird, tense thriller about voyeurism, blackmail, and people acting terribly. All that to say, I liked it."

                            Shariar A. (4/5)

                            Interesting early 80s Australian thriller

"Not entirely successful attempt at a dark thriller from Australia, some pretty women and nudity. Good commentary offers some thoughts on what they were going for."

                            Kenneth C. (5/5)

                            Trippy oz-sploitation

"Really enjoyed this erotic thriller from Australia. First watched on Tubi sometime ago, and liked it enough to get the physical disc. I thought David Clendenning and Jennifer Cluff really stood out and played their roles well. The movie has a more European style and plays best to those who don't insist on a clear cut explanation of everything by the end."

                            Adam C. (5/5)

                            All vibes, all the time.

"All vibes, all the time. A great Australian time capsule by way of (s)exploitation with some great cinematography and a pair of likeable leads. The VHS version included as an extra is a fantastic bonus. I wish all releases had this feature. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug."

                            Paul A. (5/5)

"Nice little gem of a thriller that I had never heard about before Umbrella released this very well producded Blu-ray. The whole plot has a meta level to it, since the main character is a film maker. Similar movies that came to mind are: Blow-Out, Blue Money, Lady Stay Dead (for also being an Aussie Thriller from that time). The restoration is excellent and the extras are very interesting, especially the visual essay. Nice booklet incudeled as well. Here in Germany it was released on VHS under the title "Ticket to Hell"!"
