Launched by Ray Murray, founder of TLA Releasing and Artsploitation Films, Cinephobia Releasing is dedicated to presenting the most eye-opening genre and LGBTQ+ movies from around the world. The label is admittedly schizophrenic: offering both controversial, often sexually provocative dramas, edgy thrillers and uncompromising horror while also showcasing some of the best LGBTQ+ romances and dramas. Expect the unexpected.

Reviews

Let's take a coffe in the table

"An absolute singular horror effort from Spain that did not received all the love It deserved, at least until VS put It on their site. It is incredible how a such little thing like a table can be the basis for a horror film, and what a manner! The release features a bright imagen anda clean and strong sound. I wanted to order the limited edition, but i was late :("

Jesus

"Truly disturbing film. Everything about the transfer is great, just be prepared for some messed up stuff."

Mote Enjoyable Than You'd Think

"Movie: Not as hard to watch as I was worried it'd be. At times it even gets funny. One thing this movie depicts well is having to handle intense negative emotions while dealing with people who are oblivious to what you're going through. There's a scene in particular that really hits onto a very specific feeling, layering humor on top of dissociation. Drags in a couple of spots, but it at least left me feeling like there was something more to potentially dig into. Maybe the extras will make it click more. Extras: The making of documentary is only 10-15 minutes long, which is fine, but I really wish releases would list the lengths for extras. The interview is somewhat longer. It's a good interview (in Spanish fyi). Book: A nice little essay. Packaging: Very nice design overall."

Not for the faint of heart.

"Saw this one in the theater and all I can remember is nervous laughter and stunned silence when the movie ended. So of course I had to buy a copy when I saw it at my local vinegar syndrome."

Michael B. (5/5)

Very tense and shocking. Maybe

"Very tense and shocking. Maybe not something I'd watch twice but I am happy to have it in my collection!"

The Coffee Table

"Really nothing like it that I’ve ever seen but might not be for everyone. I did find a bit of darker humor in it the second round. Quite the ride! Good amount of commentary tracks and a nice making of featurette. Great essay in the booklet as well. The slipcover is simple but perfect. I like it more than the other art I’ve seen on other releases."

Steven C. (5/5)

A film that’ll have viewers squirming in their seats.

"Superbly shot film filled with stellar performances that’ll have you squirming in your seat. This release originally came with a limited slipcover."

Best spanish movie in years

Great Movie And Terrific Slipcover!

"I really love this Vinegar Syndrome copy of this awesome movie! It is truly a viewing pleasure! The slipcover is fantastic, which is always the case with the masters of the slipcover, VS! It is a very interesting movie that is not your typical watch. There are many bizarre things happening throughout, as well as some that are very disturbing. It definitely kept my interest from beginning to end! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"
