    Coming of Age

"Falcon Lake is the first feature length film from Charlotte Le Bon, and has Sara Montpetit, who did Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person, after this film. The film may be viewed as a little slow, but the scenery is beautiful. I recently picked up the superb slipcover for this coming of age flick, which, though initially a blind buy, ended up making my favorite viewings of the year list. 8/10"

    Ben. Z. (5/5)

    The feeling of youth encapsulated

"a coming of age film that captures the darker feelings of being a teenager, and hits on all the emotions it needs to"

    Jack B. (5/5)

    A GEM!

""I just feel it. . . This is my proof. " Summertime stasis is a frame of being that is as dreamy as it is transformative. It's not possible to take adolescence literally, just like it's impossible not to take it personally. There’s something special about witnessing a film take its time to reveal itself. To unfold in a way you never even considered. And not in like, a "twist", where sometimes you can feel duped. But in a, "Oh, this is the direction we're going? Okay!" It's very rare. And I treasure it every time."

    Laurens G. (5/5)

    GREAT COMING OF AGE FILM

"I'm a sucker for "coming of age" films and FALCON LAKE did not let me down! Just make sure you're in the mood to read subtitles before you watch it. Great performances by both of the young actors in the film. . . and while I can't fully relate to what it's like to be a teen nowadays, there are plenty of moments that reminded me of my teen years and that "fear" of the opposite sex and trying to be cool and fit in. . . HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

    Adam T. (5/5)

    Ok romantic drama

"Romance and drama aren't my favorite genres. It's well done, though, and has a decent plot. The back side of the slip is great."

    Kevin K. (3/5)
