Uneven doc

"Packaging is stellar as you can see but doc is very uneven, unfocused. Worth a watch but not a keeper for me."

Really interesting documentary about a

"Really interesting documentary about a small film company , with great interviews and does not out stay its welcome with a brisk running time , But has a few nice extras too."

steve m. (5/5)

Awesome movie documentary!

"I love these documentaries about old cult films. Some great interviews and a decent slip cover on this one. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer!"

Mark W. (4/5)

Awesome doc

"An awesome doc and a great release. The bonus feature film is top notch."

“We needed enough plot to justify the action… and that’s it. ”

"A perfect description of exactly how I approach all independent eighties action cheeze martial arts spectacles. Well, the joke is certainly on the viewer with this disappointing shitshow. My “favorite” part was when our simple but astute narrator declares “Cynthia Rothrock is very good and should be more famous. ” Wow, that’s the kind of big-brain takes you can expect from this rambling procession of advertisements and fanboy musings. I viewed this terrible excuse for a documentary on the American Expendables: The Films of North American Pictures ETR Media Blu-ray Limited Edition physical media released through Vinegar Syndrome and it is the same great premium level of packaging that you’ve come to expect from the generic releases of this boutique label. No other brand beats Vinegar Syndrome at the cardboard game and this great slipcover is no exception to the consistently fantastic artwork and component quality this company produces. Unfortunately, the actual production is severely lacking with this unfortunate release. It’s a shame that the slipcover is so good that it suckers you into being thoroughly disappointed. Well, the joke is definitely on me this time… DAMN YOU, ETR MEDIA!"

American Expendables

"While the subject matter is interesting the execution is so amateurish and cheap that it feels like the only research done for this doc was done through Wikipedia. Skip cover is pretty awesome."

Erich H. (1/5)

Kick ass doc

"Great documentary on the martial arts genre."

Avery X. (5/5)

Nice release by ETR media.

"Nice release by ETR media. Not a long documentary but it was very entertaining and taught me alot about North American Pictures a studio that released some really fun action flicks in the late 80s till the 90s. It comes with Fountain Of Death too which was a really entertaining action movie from 2006."

Bryan K. (5/5)

Boring documentary with great slipcover

"Too bad this documentary was quite boring despite interesting topic. Same video footage over and over again and I bet there would have been more movies and events to discuss. Well at least now I know what happened to Jalal Merhi’s Porche. Didn’t know this when watching Tiger Claws. Bonus film Fountain of Death was also boring."
