It’s a sequel!

"When I woke up today I didn't think I'd be watching a movie where someone gets anally knifed to death. Turns out I was VERY wrong and this was the second movie of the day where that happens. Thankfully this one was better than the first. I really only checked this out because I enjoyed the ambition of Chad's Lovecraftian horror films and wanted to see what he could do with something a little more grounded. I got what I wanted from it. Some great practical effects and a good enough story that has some over the top justifications, but it all made it more fun. Even as I watched it, I thought there should be a prequel. And of course, as I look through Chad's films to see what else I need to watch, there already is one. Not a prequel, but this is a sequel to The Night Caller? I'll have to watch that in the morning. Jake Busey has turned into a mix of Triple H and Costas Mandylor and I'm okay with that."

"I was surprised to find out THE NIGHT CALLER had a sequel & happy to see I could get it here! It's not as good, in my opinion. NIGHT CALLER has a richer look, but SCALPER jumps in feet first with griminess & keeps on going! Bai Ling's presence is awesome & terrifying."
