17 years ago, Peter's grandfather went missing under mysterious circumstances. Now, Peter and his friends have returned to the placid Wisconsin town to check out his inherited lake house and to partake in the annual 'Muskie Madness' fishing competition. Soon after his arrival, Peter begins to sense that something isn't quite right, but none of his friends, nor the local sheriff, will believe him. But as townsfolk and tourists begin to disappear, Peter becomes determined to solve the mystery, as well as that of his grandfather's disappearance, and soon finds himself facing off against a fish hook wielding madman!

The feature film debut from director Jim Mallon (Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie), BLOOD HOOK is a distinctly comedic slasher that mixes copious bloodshed with wry satire. Never released domestically in its original version, Vinegar Syndrome presents this under-seen regional horror oddity fully uncut, and featuring previously censored gore and mayhem, on Blu-ray, in a fresh cinematographer-approved restoration from its original camera negative!

So Bad, it's GREAT!!!

"Blood Hook is one of those movies where the plot is intentioally written for it to be a "bad" film - so much that it becomes a great Troma classic. It takes a great movie to become a classic. This is a GREAT B MOVIE! The fact that it's bad enough to never be released into mainstream theaters and only to Troma video is significant to its attractiveness. This movie could be coined as a cult classic that should be watched at parties or with friends. The acting is B-grade, as well as the plot and overall storyline. But what makes it great is that there are many comic-horror moments where the viewer will find themselves laughing or smiling in amusement at the movie's over-the-top attitude. So, for a fun but mediocre scared time, buy BLOOD HOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Troma!

"A one of a kind slasher film that keeps its tongue resting in its cheek at all times. The comedy is so dry in Blood Hook that it's really kind of special. One of the more exceptionally weird but acceptable Troma movies to force onto your distant family on the off chance they're sleeping over one night."

Branden Y. (4/5)

Entertaining but overly long

"A fun slasher parody with just enough gore and seriousness to make for a surprisingly entertaining movie. It does overstay it's welcome and some of the characters get pretty annoying, but overall it is recommended."

Kai Y. (3/5)

Great package

"Great package overall. The presentation is strong, the extras are good, and it arrived well packed."

A Tremendous Slipcover — GLORIOUS CARDBOARD!

"BLOOOOOOOOOD! I viewed this film on the Blood Hook Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray Limited Edition physical media release and it is the same great premium level of packaging and presentation that you’ve come to expect from the generic releases of this boutique label. No other brand beats Vinegar Syndrome at the cardboard game and this great slipcover is no exception to the consistently fantastic artwork and component quality this company produces. For my full detailed review of Blood Hook, see my entry on Letterboxd: @M4N14K"
