American screenwriter Dan Gillis (Jeff Goldblum), based in Paris and reeling from a recent separation, receives a commission from producer Julien Legrand (Daniel Ceccaldi) to collaborate with ambitious young director Malcolm Greene (Dexter Fletcher).
