Art Label is the new outlet for envelope-pushing arthouse and experimental cinema. Growing from previous work under the Verboden Video and Culture Shock Releasing banners, Art Label is focusing on films that challenge traditional rules of form and content. Art Label is broadening its roots in horror and exploitation, reaching into other dimensions of expression to give new kicks to a well-versed audience of cinematic thrill seekers. Even the most hardened moviegoers will find stimulation in Art Label's releases.

Vick and Tarstar are shooting their latest horror movie trash epic, "Scarecrowed," with a cast and crew of punks, drug addicts, fetish models, and dumpster divers. Set back by extra hairy relationship drama, homelessness, lack of funding, and their crew members quitting, Vick and Tarstar just want to tell their story. With the right bucket, you too can buy your own hair cutting scarecrow made by the animatronic Goo Guys at the Scarecrow Factory.

Only independentt could make something this singular.

"I was hoping for something I had never seen before and absolutely got that. I didn't necessarily find it incredibly entertaining but I think it would click a lot better on a rewatch. Glad I got this."

      Teun H. (4/5)

      An odd one

"I said in the past that I love any movie with Tina Krause in it. This one tested that a bit. It's a bit slow. Mumblegore is not a genre I was familiar with and I'm not a fan of mumblecore. That said, there's enough weirdness and interesting characters to get you through. I don't think making movies is as interesting to your average viewer as most filmmakers seem to think, but it works well enough. The film within the film would have been even weirder. And we do get a topless Tina to save the movie. I guess that's enough. Good for an extra star anyway."

      Ed K. (4/5)

      Interesting introduction to this new

"Interesting introduction to this new wave of "mumblegore" indies coming out, also great looking release with cool art. Need to check out more by the director."

      Sam A. (5/5)

      Great release!

      Sebastian V. (5/5)

      Charming and deranged

"I truly adore this movie and the surprising amount of heart it finds amid such deeply flawed characters. It’s an ensemble film where you really feel like you’ve gotten to know each person on screen and their weird, oddly specific quirks."

      Jon K. (5/5)

      Interesting

"Comedic ans unique take on low budget film making"

      Bruce K. (4/5)

      Great slip, fun flick

"Not for everyone. . but I liked it. ."

      Richard J. (4/5)

      A Face in the Scarecrowed

"A colorful, self-reflexive movie-about-making-movies like Truffaut’s “Day for Night”, but shot in Philadelphia and featuring a who’s who of underground names and talent. It helps if you’re familiar with the Bloodsick filmography, but newcomers will hopefully appreciate the love of low/no-budget cinema and the look behind the curtain of how a movie of that sort is made."

      Nick P. (5/5)

      A new classic!

"So happy to see this film get a beautiful Blu-ray release. A current favorite, Vick & Tarstar is a new high point for the always exciting Blood Sick team. Loaded with great bonus features and done up with fantastic cover slip cover art, this is a must-buy."
