Texas, 2007: Emo-kid Raphael is in jail following an arrest for graffiti. He’s a good guy. It’s just graffiti. So you can’t blame him for the events after his arrest. He’s not responsible for the sting operation, the severed hands, the FBI, Larry the pig, the plutonium deal gone wrong, or anyone who may die due to that deal turning sour. None of it is Raphael’s fault, but it is his problem.

Jacob Wysocki is hot as fuck in this, huh, papa?

"I’ve never felt more seen than I have with this movie. It perfectly encapsulated my teen years and quickly became one of my absolute faves. You see full bush/bootyhole while the owner of said bush/bootyhole is taking a dump and that’s not even the craziest part of the movie. I hope to see more from these guys for sure. Never stop releasing crazy stuff like this please!"

A Really Fun Period Horror Piece!

"The amazing (as always) VS cover is what initially drew me into this really cool flick! The movie itself is a really fun period piece that kept me engaged throughout! It also had really interesting special features and commentary! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Rats!

"Such a fun and charismatic film. I think the DVD was the best way to consume this film as you are really able to rewind to watch what you just laughed for 5 minutes at. Not just that, the bonus content and quality are well worth it."

"Disgusting and weird and original! I had to show more people. It's on its own vibe."

Richard L. (5/5)

Rats!

"Its energy comes from the collision of absurd threats and low‑stakes mayhem, giving it the feel of a regional, DIY crime farce."

Pierre-Yves L. (3/5)

Graffiti and plutonium

"This film is kind of gonzo and all over the place, but in a fun way. After a bit of character building, like a nutso woman cop, there are serial murders, severed hands, plutonium, etc. I initially expected to see actual rats, but no actual rodents were visibly used. Entertaining release, neat extras and slipcover."

Kresh R. (4/5)

Bien!

"Une belle pochette pour un film fort amusant."

Inspired Anarchy

"This anarchic and absurdist comedy, about smalltown Texan stoners being harassed by a psycho cop who suspects them of terrorism, is so sublimely unhinged and hysterically funny (and gross) in its first half that it can only come as a major bummer that it completely loses its mojo a little over the halfway mark and never regains it. The many inspired gags of the beginning suddenly give way to head-scratchingly stupid ones (especially anything involving the old-lady busybodies), and the finale goes for frenetic chaos and quick send-offs instead of the sharply written tie-up for all of the disparate characters and storylines that you would hope for and expect. It feels distinctly cobbled-together at the last minute, pretty much the epitome of second-act troubles, which has plagued some of the most prolific and acclaimed writers in film and theatre history, so why not these first-time feature filmmakers? It's a damn shame. However, it doesn't discount the brilliant hilarity of the first half or the over-the-top triumph of the unknown cast. Danielle Evon Ploeger is the undeniable MVP as the crazy-cunt lesbian cop, Officer Williams. I mean she GOES FOR IT, and she is fucking unbelievably funny. Luke Wilcox and Khali Sykes are adorable as the meet-cute romantic leads, too, though they basically fulfill the roles of straightmen to all of the insanity around them. Even the bit parts are rather inspired. So, the two directors/writers knew what they were going for, for the most part, and did a great job of imparting it to their actors. If only they could have seen the drop-off in quality more objectively, this could have been an all-timer for our modern era. It's still something you gotta see. Just keep expectations in check and you can have a damn good time with it."
