A provocative break from more conventional cinematic portraits of the sainted icon, Bruno Dumont's beautifully shot Joan of Arc depicts the last three years of the young martyr's life as she leads the King of France’s army against England, is captured, and finally burned at the stake by the Church, which accuses her of heresy. Prudhomme returns to the title role after depicting a very young Joan in Dumont's heavy metal–backed 2017 Jeannette. Features a lush synth soundtrack by singer/songwriter Christophe.
