Matt Hunter thought he had put his fighting days behind him when he retired from the C.I.A., preferring to live in the serene solitude of the Florida Everglades. But when notorious Soviet terrorist Mikhail Rostov decides to exact revenge against Matt, this one-man-army has no choice but to dust off his martial arts skills and face off, Uzis in hand, against his deadliest enemy. However, as Matt tries to remain one step ahead, the insidiously evil Rostov begins deploying bands of guerrilla fighters across the state to terrorize innocent civilians and force Matt out into the open and compel him to face off for one final, bloody showdown.

An action tour-de-force from director Joseph Zito (The Prowler, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter) and one of the key films in helping establish Chuck Norris (who co-authored the screenplay with James Bruner) as an action superstar, INVASION U.S.A. was also one of the first true blockbusters from 80s genre film legends Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus’ Cannon Films. Co-starring Richard Lynch (The Sword and the Sorcerer), Melissa Prophet (Goodfellas, Casino), and Billy Drago (The Untouchables), this epic feat of non-stop stunt work and incredible action setpieces comes to 4K UHD from Vinegar Syndrome, newly restored for this release from its 35mm original camera negative and ready for retribution with a staggering supply of new and archival bonus materials.

RIP Chuck

"I was sad to have missed the deluxe version but still happy to have a copy of this with the VS treatment. Not as great as Lone Wolf McQuade, but still classic 80s Chuck Norris. Chuck prefers his meat so rare, he only grills Unicorn. There will never be another action star like him. Rest in Peace, Lone Wolf."

You want action?

"You can't handle this much action. Seriously, it's wall to wall action. Not a lot of hand to hand combat for a Chuck Norris movie, but boat loads of guns and bombs and tanks in the streets. This has to be the movie w/ the most squibs and blanks fired off. I mean, technically, it is a war movie. Just a far out fantastical movie war set in the streets of the U S of A. There are so many guns going off that the bad guys didn't even need to reload their M72 LAWs when they were blowing up the burbs. It's like they had rockets in a clip to fire at will, haha. This movie is a little goofy but a good time if you want action overload. Chuck is doing his whispery intensity again and Richard Lynch always carries his own level of intensity which is perfectly suited for the villain here. Another Cannon winner."

Come for the action, tolerate the Norris

"I've never really liked Chuck at all but when this went on sale I figured I had to get it. All the elements of a great Canon 80s action flick I just wish it had a star that was remotely likable."

Invasion U. S. A

Albert M. (5/5)

There’s so many explosions on this film lmao

"The Best of Chuck Norris IMO, in my heart 2nd place goes to Sidekick, 3rd to Good Guys Wear Black, 4th Texas Walker Ranger which was my dad’s fav This transfer was the upgrade I needed. Finally can retire my DVD… I think, it’s a Cannon film set so. Double dipping I guess. Slipcover looks great, wish it had a booklet tho"

John R. (5/5)

Dumb Macho Fun

"3. 5 stars. With all the scenes of random people being murdered, it’s almost like a horror film. Of course, once Chuck Norris shows up it becomes a super macho action movie where he can single handedly defeat an army, and does stuff like stopping a school bus full of kids from getting blown up. The plot and writing are terrible, but Chuck is pretty iconic in it, and it has a great final act (the way it ends is amazing. )"

Lucas B. (3/5)

Chuck Norris to the rescue - finally in 4K!

"Pure Cannon-era excess: terrorists launch attacks across America, leaving Chuck Norris to answer with twin Uzis, explosions and wonderfully ridiculous one-liners. The plot is hardly sophisticated, but the relentless action, Richard Lynch’s memorable villain and unapologetic 1980s atmosphere make it hugely entertaining. Vinegar Syndrome’s 4K restoration is a major upgrade, preserving the natural grain while delivering sharper detail, richer colors and stronger black levels. The powerful 5. 1 mix gives the explosions plenty of impact, while the extensive interviews and three commentary tracks make this an impressively complete edition. Another excellent release from Vinegar Syndrome and an easy recommendation for Cannon and Chuck Norris fans."

When the unthinkable comes true

"The best use of rocket launchers the 80s have to offer"

Max N. (5/5)

Invasion USA

"Just a fun insane ride, with crazy action and a ridiculous plot."

Ian C. (5/5)

Classic Cannon

"You can't go wrong with Chuck Norris, one-man army, and Cannon films. Between Chuck, Sylvester and Arnold, this is some of what defines the 80's."
