1970s cool on display

"Slipbox is really nice and looks excellent on the shelf. Films are top notch blaxploitation. The blu-rays are superb. Nice transfers that preserve the original grain structure. For Rudy Ray fans, or fans of the sub-genre--they won't be disappointed in this set."

Rudy Ray!

"Great box set. Rudy Ray Moore had the confidence to pull these movies off with no budget. Super happy to have clean blu-ray copies of these, and they are housed in a cool box."

Kevin K. (5/5)

I wanted to like these, but couldn't.

"A lot of people like these movies, but I don’t get it. They are so roughly made, the sound is awful that you can’t hear big parts of them, and the stories don’t make sense. I wanted to like them, but really couldn’t."

Rudy Ray will Make Your Day

"This box set is a beautiful centerpiece to any collection. 4 important films in black cinema history that have forever left their mark."

Matthew K. (5/5)

Man, this is Dolemite. My inspiration tape, okay?

"Having seen all these films before, I was excited to see the box set in the sale and grabbed it immediately! Like a lot of people however, I received a partial refund because Dolomite wasn't included. It's not the end of the world, I just picked up another release of it and put that in the box, but it's not really the complete set still. In terms of the movies, it's going to be something you enjoy or you just really hate (or don't get). That's the kind of movies they are, but VS seemed to go through a period of releasing Blaxploitation and I would guess they weren't all that popular, but that isn't to say they're bad films. I've seen these a few times and I'm sure I'll have fun watching them again this year. TAnd the box itself is really nice by the way!"

Fun Box Set

"Great set in nice packaging. Fun movies made more interesting by the fact he produced, directed, wrote, starred himself. He wasn’t given the opportunity for the easy route so he made his own luck. You gotta admire that!"
