Look at Me!
"I was excited to check this out after loving Dream Scenario and The Drama- this movie will only continue to become more relevant as social media pushes everyone to want to be the center of attention. Good date night movie!"
This listing is for the standard edition Blu-ray. The limited edition hardbox slipcase (designed by Beth Morris) was limited to 3,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcase.
Signe and Thomas are young lovers in an increasingly competitive, and dangerous, relationship. As Thomas's success as a contemporary artist grows, building sculptures from stolen goods, Signe concocts a plan to get all eyes in Oslo on her instead, only it involves grotesquely altering her appearance and body chemistry in the process.
A biting social satire that aims its targets on narcissism in the age of social media and skewers the cultural elite, Norwegian filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli's SICK OF MYSELF is a sharp, brutally honest, oftentimes disgusting amalgam of gallows humor and body horror that has to be seen to be believed. Featuring a fearless performance by Kristine Kujath Thorp (Ninjababy) as Signe, much of which she spends under copious amounts of meticulously crafted practical make-up effects, SICK OF MYSELF was called "Pretty fucked up!" by none other than John Waters and premiered in the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. Vinegar Syndrome Pictures is elated to bring Borgli's singular, renegade, horror comedy to Blu-ray loaded with cast and crew interviews and Borgli's similarly grotesque short film EER!

"It’s so nice that you still get a booklet with the standard edition. This is a great edition for a great movie"
"great film"
"This was a blind buy. Nothing wrong with it but maybe not for me. I’m sure there’s plenty of people who would love this."
"Glad to have picked this up as it's great to see some original, contemporary films get the VS treatment. Terrific release all around."
"Don't look at me that way. I DO have standards. There are plenty of movies I won't watch. There are several movies I've watched that pushed me too far outside my comfort zone. I don't mind my comfort zone being challenged. I don't like my comfort zone being curb-stomped. I have no idea what to expect from this title but I hope it's good-creepy and not bad-creepy."
"You know I love a good character study of an awful protagonist! Great release from VinSyn, as per usual."
"A razor-sharp satire that’s equal parts hilarious and horrifying. Bold performances, fearless tone, and a relentless sense of unease make this one linger long after it ends. An absolute knockout."
"I think Kristofer Borgli is getting better as a filmmaker: his Dream Scenario doesn’t succumb to many of the edgelord-adjacent provocations nested within his satire/horror Sick of Myself. But I have to confess that these provocations are very effective - Borgli shows real skill here at turning the screws. And the VS disc is terrific."
"A director whose films decline when you think about them for a minute after watching. This might be my “favorite” of his, but that’s not saying much. Accurate portrayal the type of person the protagonist begins and ends at. It balances the humor with some of the disturbing material. I like the box it comes in and nice looking release."
