Details

Sam Staziak (Daniel Quinn, Wild At Heart), the Scanner Cop, had hoped that he could resume a normal life. When other Scanners in the Los Angeles area are being attacked, literally left drained of life, Sam is forced back into action in a desperate attempt to stop a mad Scanner named Volkin who is determined to become the most powerful - and ruthless - of his kind. But as Sam sets out to put an end to the ever increasing carnage gripping the city, he also finds himself in a personal crisis after his long estranged mother reappears, and becomes the focus of Volkin's growing rage.

Pervasively twisted and astonishingly gory, Steve Barnett's SCANNER COP II: THE SHOWDOWN does everything in its power to up the ante in terms of the Scanners' series violence and creative death sequences, with an array of extremely grisly and often 'explosive' demises courtesy of special effects wizard, John Carl Buechler (Mausoleum). Vinegar Syndrome is overjoyed to bring this unforgettable final chapter in the Scanners saga to Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD, newly restored from its 35mm original camera negative and featuring a brand new extended making of documentary with it’s cast and crew.

Scanner cop 2

"Another fun entry to the series. it's slightly better than the first Scanner Cop, but how can it not be with such a quality antagonist. I loved some of the Highlander elements the added to the mythology."

Great Definitive Release

"Restoration is excellent. So cool to see movies like this lovingly resurrected. Amazing practical effects. Cool reversible insert as well!"

Mike K. (5/5)

Incredible sequel

"This is a gorgeous movie with incredible sound and special effects. I feel like it really holds up to the first movie in many ways, also a cool kane hodder cameo and theres tons of extras and content that feels like a documentary."

Will S. (5/5)

Scanner cop 2

"Scanner Cop 2 doubles down on the intensity with a darker tone and even more explosive psychic action. Its inventive set pieces and heightened violence make it a fast-paced, satisfying sequel. The film delivers bold, pulpy fun and earns its place as a standout entry in ’90s cult sci-fi horror."

Jeffrey W. (5/5)

Great movie!

"Tue movie is as awesome as I remember! Thank you Vinager Syndrome for providing good packaging so my movies arrive in pristine condition. Also for the great quality of the 4K restoration!"

Works Better As Its Own Movie

"Movie: Watching this right after the first Scanner Cop made it harder to enjoy on its own terms. I liked Daniel Quinn as unsure rookie cop better than I like him as hardened detective here, and the plot is definitely less compelling than in the first movie. However, if you can take the movie as its own thing, I think the greater focus on special effects (especially the Scanner on Scanner fights) do a decent job of holding everything else up. Also, the music is working _really_ hard to try to set the mood in the beginning, and I respect the work done there as well. Extras: Nice to have the trailer, and the included second half of the making of featurette that covers both Scanner Cop movies was a little more interesting than the first half (included with Scanner Cop) Packaging: Bonus points for reversible cover, although the original poster sadly is not as cool."

Ok for a sale buy

"Not really a fit for my curated collection but I had to check it out. That's just part of the process. Thanks"

"Not as good as scanner cop but a good sequel"

The perfect VS title!

"I enjoyed the first Scanner Cop film, I absolutely loved the batshit crazy vibe of the second film. It has a high quality transfer and despite being a straight to video film actually has some outstanding effects!. It has so many great moments, mostly from lead actor Patrick Kilpatrick as the big bad of the film. The final battle is worth the price of admission. An essential VS purchase!."

Alistair D. (5/5)
