This listing is for the standard edition 4k UDH/Blu-ray Combo. The limited edition slipcover (designed by Robert Sammelin) was limited to 7,000 units and is soldout. The two versions are identical, aside from the slipcover.
Every year, former college roommates Jackie, Abbey and Trina take turns organizing a mystery getaway for the three of them. This year it’s Jackie’s turn, and she’s chosen a weekend of camping in New Jersey’s Deep Barons. Despite ominous warnings from a local shopkeeper, the young women set off into the wilderness with high spirits, and it’s not long before they’re skinny dipping in the nearby lake and generally making the most of the great outdoors - blissfully unaware that they’re being watched. As the friends settle in for the night, they’re suddenly attacked by a pair of sadistic brothers, Ike and Addley, who drag them in their sleeping bags back to their dilapidated house in the middle of the woods to meet Mother… who turns out to be even more sick and twisted than they are. Subjected to violence, torture and assault beyond their worst nightmares, the women are forced to channel their inner savages in a desperate bid to fight back against these backwoods degenerates.
One of the earliest and best films to come from the then-burgeoning slasher wave, Charles Kaufman’s MOTHER’S DAY pre-empted (and arguably transcended) the Friday the 13th-era bodycount craze of the early 1980s with this smart and perversely humorous subversion of the slasher template, which is as intent on unsettling the viewer with its scenes of bloody carnage (which led to the film becoming banned in the United Kingdom) as it is with delivering a biting satire of consumerism and pop culture. Now restored in 4K from its original 35mm camera negative by the backwoods dwellers at Vinegar Syndrome, fans can celebrate MOTHER’S DAY all over again with this UHD world premiere, packed with archival material and a shockingly extensive array of brand new bonus features sure to make any mother proud!

Classic slasher brought to a great transfer
"Great transfer of a classic slasher. Filmed at the same time and same locations as Friday the 13th which I learned from the extras which are fantastic. It earns a high grade for the film and the audio and extras."
— Timothy D. (5/5)

Twisted family of backwoods weirdos
"Pretty wild film, wasn't really what I expected. There's a definite Texas Chainsaw influence here, with the backwoods family full of creepy weirdos. Also, didn't expect to laugh as much as I did, for the most part intentional. The most unexpected thing, though, is that they did a pretty good job getting you to care about the main gals, that damn if you aren't really rooting for them. The inevitable violent ending was a comeuppance that was well deserved. Yeah man. . . this was kinda good, not gonna lie. Twisted, sure, so maybe this speaks more about me than anything else ah hah hah. Also, this movie looks far better on 4k than you'd ever expected a movie like this to look."

Great to have this 80's cable staple on 4K
"I remember catching "Mother's Day" countless times on cable in the early 80's, so it's nice to add this to the collection - in pristine 4K UHD no less! Another great presentation from Vinegar Syndrome."
— Kelly K. (5/5)
Underrated Slasher
"Outstanding early Troma film that's every bit as nasty and mean-spirited as you could get. Great transfer, quality restoration!"

Mother knows best (sorry for the cliche)
"Synopsis: Three former college roommates head into the Deep Barrens for some camping and fishing as part of their annual reunion. Unfortunately for them, this happens to be the stomping ground of murderous raping siblings Addley and Ike as well as their dear old Mother. Equipped with a neck brace and a fierce attitude Mother keeps her boys in check as they do various acting scenarios with unwilling participants. These college babes are in for the fight of their lives if they don't want to end up dead as part of some sick reality TV show for Mother's amusement. Review: Yes, what is shown on the screen is shocking and vile. But what isn't seen seems just as messed up. Even though the characters of Ike, Addley and Mother are outlandish, they feel almost real. like what would happen if this backwoods family was trying to seem more sophisticated but only really knew how to act because of what they saw on TV? Mother doesn't help as she instigates the debauchery for her boys and teaches them to be better killers. The whole idea behind this is sinister and even though it tries to be silly, Mother's Day is very dark. It takes a while to get going, including a bizarre detour flashback, but once it does it doesn't let up. Carnage Count 3/5 Sleaze Score 4/5"

Happy to have (re)discovered this film!
"This is an awesome edition of the film! The first time I saw Mother's Day a few years ago I did not appreciate it that much, but I wanted to give it a second chance. And I must admit that, with a transfer of this quality, It's perfect for rediscovering the film in all its gritty splendor! Vinegar Syndrome, as usual, has done an excellent job with this release. Also, I LOVE the artwork, which I admit was a strong an incentive to my purchase. Highly recommended!"

Mother's Day
"An upgrade from the 88Films Blu-Ray released a few years back, and honestly I was really impressed with the transfer on this one. Forgot how fun this movie was, overall a good release."

MOTHER’S DAY RULES!!
"This is a must own!! A great exploitation horror from the 80’s. For fans of Last house on the left! I think it’s actually better than Last House. My opinion though."
— Marcus B. (5/5)
Mothers day
"Mother’s Day is a delightfully twisted slasher that combines dark humor with genuinely tense horror moments. The film’s quirky characters and shocking set pieces make it a memorable entry in early ’80s horror. It’s a bloody, entertaining ride that perfectly balances campy fun with suspenseful thrills."
