If you like Godzilla etc, this is a must
"Really strange film, can't believe it ever got made. Disc looks great."
This listing is for the standard edition 2-disc 4k UHD/Blu-ray release. The limited edition slipcase + slipcover combo (designed by Matt Frank) was limited to 6,000 units and is sold out. The two versions are identical, aside from the packaging.
When an underwater volcanic eruption tears up the sea bed off the coast of Ireland, two treasure hunters make the discovery of a lifetime when they encounter a gigantic prehistoric monster that’s been unleashed from the earth’s crust. After capturing the beast, the pair transport the creature down to London where it’s given the name of “Gorgo” and put on display to an avid public. Little do they realize that Gorgo is just an infant, and that his exponentially larger mother is about to emerge from the depths to avenge the capture of her offspring. As Gorgo’s mother begins her advance on the British capital, not even the considerable might of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces can stop her colossal devastation!
An international co-production between the United Kingdom, United States, and Ireland, visual effects pioneer Eugène Lourié’s (The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, The Giant Behemoth) GORGO - often referred to as the “British Godzilla” - was one of the first, and arguably one of the best, giant monster films to follow in the wake of Japan’s sci-fi landmark. Between its astonishing, special effects-laden climax, which sees Gorgo’s mother wreak fiery destruction on the streets of Central London, and its unique and unusual ending, GORGO quickly solidified its place in the sci-fi canon, spawning numerous comic book adaptations and spin-offs which further expanded the “Gorgoverse”. Now, newly restored in 4K from its untouched-for-decades original camera negative by the monster maniacs at Vinegar Syndrome, GORGO bursts up from the depths in its worldwide UHD debut, loaded with a fittingly gargantuan array of extras, both old and new.

"Really strange film, can't believe it ever got made. Disc looks great."
"Gorgo is still a cheesy monster movie, but I actually really enjoy the plot of this one, and it is easily rewatchable. The 4k restoration from the negative looks great. The box art is exceptional, which seems to be good trend with Vinegar Syndrome. Special features are robust for this one, with multiple behind-the-scenes interviews and a short film"
"Nice monster movie."
"Gorgo was a movie I picked up to give away to a friend for Christmas. He loves the kaiju/monster movies and only had a DVD of this movie before. He's told me the 4K transfer looks incredible and the movie is a lot of fun."
"I've loved the film since I first saw it when I was a preteen. Terrific restoration job! And the extras were informative & fun to watch!"
"Fun experience, I enjoyed watching a classic that I didn't know about before. Quality packaging as usual."
"Just as “Jaws" had “Piranhas", “Godzilla" (1954) has this film."
"Fun kaiju flick, no complaints with the disc itself or the shipping process"
"This picture borrows liberally from prior monster movies without bothering much with allegory or deep meaning -- at least half of the breezy 77-minute runtime is pure gleeful monster destruction. While the waggily-eared creature design is undeniably goofy, and the pristine 4K resolution lays bare the often-shoddy blue screen compositing and mismatched military stock footage, the climactic London attack is beautifully rendered with magnificent miniature sets and hundreds of screaming extras. The smoke, flames, and scenery all pop in the HDR color of the 4K disc. The best extras are the archival 30-minute making-of special, the video deep-dive into Gorgo ephemera by superfan and comic book artist Stephen Bissette, the entire Gorgo #1 comic from 1961, and the short "Waiting For Gorgo" that acts as an effects-free and tongue-in-cheek mini-sequel to the movie. Vinegar syndrome has created a reverential package for a movie often written off as a lightweight pastiche of more ambitious creature features, and the extras provide a solid mix of information and contagious enthusiasm."
"Great restoration that has great clarity in the picture with vibrant colors. The British version of Godzilla. It is a nice story of a mother going after her stolen infant. I am glad to see that it is London being destroyed and not Tokyo. Good special effects for time period. Enjoy."
