Awesome Sound
"Jimmy Page's score has never sounded better with this release. This is the best of all the Death Wish films in my opinion, and Bronson had some great one liners in it. Grab this one if you can, the 4k looks amazing."

Paul Kersey thought his days as a vigilante were long behind him. But when his daughter and housekeeper are savagely assaulted and murdered, Paul is forced to take the law back into his own hands, hitting the tough, gang-filled streets of Los Angeles and embarking on a violent quest for justice. Realizing he has a ruthless vigilante on his hands, Detective Frank Ochoa races to put an end to the building carnage.
Nastier, grimier, and much more brutal than the original, Michael Winner’s (The Mechanic) DEATH WISH II once again stars the legendary Charles Bronson (The Great Escape, St. Ives), joined by Jill Ireland (Hard Times), Anthony Franciosa (Tenebre), Robin Sherwood (Tourist Trap), and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix). Loaded with non-stop action and suspense and set to one of the few film scores composed by Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Vinegar Syndrome is proud to bring this Cannon Films classic to 4K UHD and Blu-ray, newly restored from its uncensored original negative, and loaded with all new extra features, including its alternate TV version, presented for the first time in HD!

"Movie: The setup here is definitely unpleasant, although that's to be expected. So is the overall regressive, pro-death penalty worldview depicted. That said, it is a competently made movie, and there's some enjoyable action once things get going. Bronson is giving a surprisingly neutral performance, although I kind of buy it as someone who's probably dissociating in response to his trauma. I also appreciated the methodical way he went about things. Crazy to see a young Laurence Fishburne (as Laurence Fishburne III !) here as one of the baddies, especially since Jeff Goldblum was infamously one of the baddies in the first film. TV Cut: A more palatable way to watch the movie, since the SA is cut down a lot, although it does make some scenes a bit harder to parse. Ultimately I can't think of a good reason why you'd want/need to watch Death Wish II but weren't going to watch the uncut version. The reprehensible parts of the movie just _are_ a big part of it. If that's (understandably) a big turnoff for you, then you can really just skip this. Extras: Solid interviews with some nice little bits of information. Always nice to have the trailer. Packaging: Points for reversible cover, and after watching the movie I appreciate the muted side more."
"The scan on this all-time classic revenge gem is amazing! The presentation is awesome! This is one of my favorite revenge flicks of all time and it is very exciting from the opening scene to the very end! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"
"Great 4K release of a very sleazy, mean-spirited film. A truly nasty piece of work, with scenes that take place in various run-down LA locations."
"Paul Kersey is back! Death Wish 2 manages to be more brutal than the first installment thanks to the long sequences of rape involving Kersey's maid and, again, his daughter. But it is exactly those sequences that makes we, the audience, crave for the annihilation of the primitive criminals that pollute the city of Los Angeles. Amazing restoration by VS! The inclusion of the TV version with a series of additional scenes was fantastic! I hope VS can also release Death Wish 4 and 5 in 4K! It would also be amazing to see VS releasing some of Charles Bronson's movies from the 90's, such as Donato and Daughter and the Family of Cops trilogy!"
"So glad to have this trashy gem restored and presented so beautifully, and any classic Bronson in 4K is a must for me. Amazing transfer as always from VS."
"Great gruff gritty classic!"
"This grungy film looks great here but still maintains its built-in seediness. A great package all round and an excellent Paul Talbot audio commentary."
"Love this movie and so happy to own this edition with the slip! Thank you so much!!!"
"Death Wish II marks a turning point in Charles Bronson’s vigilante saga — darker, meaner, and soaked in early 80s grit. The atmosphere is heavy and unrelenting, capturing the urban decay and raw brutality that defined the era. It’s exploitation cinema with a grim edge, and that tone still lingers decades later. This release from Vinegar Syndrome is easily the best the film has ever looked. The new scan restores detail without scrubbing away the texture — city streets feel alive with grain, colors have punch, and nighttime sequences retain their moody shadows. It’s a massive improvement over older discs that never did the film justice. As a release, it’s loaded with care. From the high-quality presentation to the thoughtful extras, this edition doesn’t just upgrade the film — it preserves it for serious collectors. Packaging, supplements, and attention to detail all make this a definitive version. For fans of Bronson or gritty revenge thrillers, Death Wish II in UHD is the kind of release that justifies an upgrade. A brutal atmosphere, a sharp new scan, and a collector-worthy package make it a must-own."
