The residents of a dilapidated New York tenement building are being harassed and threatened by Iguana Realty, the dummy corporation which owns the land, in an effort to force them out of their homes. But when karate master Charley’s father is murdered by a group of thugs hired by the landlords, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Enlisting the help of his best friend, fellow fighter Speedy, and driven by a desire for vengeance, they soon develop a plan to murder each board member of Iguana Realty. However, what they don't realize is that their final target is someone much closer to home...

A genre blending grindhouse classic that perfectly embodies the mid 70s, NYC lensed exploitation film aesthetic, Robert Warmflash's DEATH PROMISE oozes sublime 70s sleaze from beginning to end. Reviews

A wild NYC tale with a killer soundtrack

"This movie is wild—pure NYC martial arts exploitation trash. It’s kind of slow to start, but overall, I had a great time with it. It gets docked for being extremely predictable, the bad guys always get their ass kicked, and mediocre fighting, but the cheese and the last fight make up for it."

"Love Death Promise, one of the most entertaining VS releases so far!"

Matthew R. (5/5)

Fun flick

"One of the most 70’s movies I’ve ever seen. Worth watching just for the awesome opening title theme. Another great VS release."

Gabriel G. (4/5)

70s exploitation gem

"A real barn burning gem of 70s exploitation cinema, just as relevant today as it was 50 years ago. Seriously, this movie is a blast. I consider landlords to be some of the lowest forms of life on the planet and this scratches the itch of revenge against these cockroaches plus gritty martial arts action. The title song rules, plus Neal Adams did the poster art. Highly recommended!"

“So bad it’s good” Gold

"Profoundly silly and supremely entertaining “so bad it’s good” martial arts movie. If you appreciate such fare, then this is one to get. Transfer is a bit rough but it actually benefits the movie because it fits the vibe perfectly."

Nicklas J. (4/5)

70s action flicks

"A raw 70s martial arts revenge flicks. It has that gritty New York sleaze and solid street fights. The transfer looks clean and detailed, a big upgrade from old tapes. A fun cult pickup if you like rough low-budget action."

CHAN T. (5/5)

Campy but fun.

"Charming campy fun that brings you back to a grimier era missing from New York City, and a fun era in b-movies. I have a soft spot for the vigilante and martial arts films of the 70's and 80's, and it's a special bonus when they take place in cities like N. Y. C. , so this hits the right spot. The disk quality is good, it's not a good looking movie, but the scan/encoding is good as always."
