Dr. Yuan is a world-famous adventurer whose exploits have found him playing everything from hostage negotiator to exploring the most offbeat corners of the globe. Joe and his girlfriend travel to Nepal to escape their busy lives. However, their vacation takes an unwelcome turn when Joe is injured while on safari and goes missing. Once found, he is brought to a hospital where a mysterious woman tells him that he's been chosen to be the leader of a mystical tribe in order to fight against an evil sorcerer. Upon returning to Hong Kong, Joe tries to forget about his ordeal. However, the mysterious woman tracks him down, and the two soon fall madly in love. Unfortunately, the sorcerer is also in Hong Kong searching for the mysterious woman, and Joe soon finds himself embroiled in a savage fight between good and evil.

"This double feature release in a beautiful slipcase is a must have for all Chow Yun-Fat fans. Although there is lots of action, don't expect John Woo Heroic Bloodshed movies, but more adventure, martial arts and fantasy style films. THE 7TH CURSE is clearly the superior movie, but both are very entertaining. Extras are fairly slim, but have substance. There are 2 commentaries for CURSE and 1 for WITCH FROM NEPAL. The best thing is the featurette about the director by the awesome Samm Deighan. The rest is trailers."

Crazy double feature, even crazier slipcase
"Over the past year, I’ve become obsessed with this era of Hing Kong cinema (more specifically “heroic bloodshed”). To find a double feature of creature feature, practical effects extravaganzas that share that same frenetic energy of the time period’s action thrillers feels like a dream come true. I’m also a sucker for an excellent slipcover/slipcase. The matte finish with spot gloss is amazing in hand."

Indiana Jones meets hornier big trouble in little china
"These movies are incredibly fun, just don't take them too seriously. It's basically a hornier version of Indiana Jones combined with the vibes of big trouble in little china. Definitely schlocky in the best way possible, and a great watch if you enjoy things in this vein. Seventh circle is definitely the stronger movie, but both are worth watching for sure."

"This Chow Yun Fat 2 pack absolutely smashes, with Lam Nai Kai's The Seventh Curse standing out as everything I love about 80s Hong Kong cinema. This horror fantasy action movie boasts a great cast with a monster design from Murase, one of the OG costume creators for Toho's Kaiju films. Witch from Nepal is the clear B side here but still stands out as a character-driven fantasy. The packaging is absolutely above and beyond here. This is a must own set!"

Bonkers double feature with Seventh
"Bonkers double feature with Seventh Curse from the Direvtor of Riki-Oh (Can VS please give us a 4K release for this!), while Watch from Nepal has a young Chow Yun Fat. Discs have a fair amount of extras and nice artwork on the hard case and slipcover. If I had one small complaint, I wish that the original artwork was on there some as well, but what can you. Well worth picking up!"

"Seventh Curse is a real mish-mash of styles and moods - crazy action sequences, stupid dialog/situations, monsters, etc. It takes a little getting used to. Witch from Nepal was decent, but I'll have to re-watch it before committing to a formal opinion. Video quality and extras are solid."

Hong Kong supernatural horror adventure
"The Seventh Curse is extremely fun with black magic, hungry demon baby, reanimated skeleton with glowing eyes and flying xenomorph. The movie isn't too long and time flies by. Witch from Nepal is slower paced with more focus on romance. Joe is told he is the new leader of a Nepal tribe and develops telekinetic powers. The last twenty minutes picks up the action as Joe must escape a dangerous cemetery and fight a villain who uses cat martial arts and the same powers. It's great to have these films in high definition now."

"The Seventh Curse / Witch From Nepal is a fantastic pairing of Hong Kong genre films that throw horror, fantasy, action, romance, and supernatural mythology together with very little restraint. The Seventh Curse is the crazier of the two, delivering monsters, curses, martial arts, gore, and creature effects at a relentless pace. Witch From Nepal is more atmospheric and romantic, but still has plenty of supernatural weirdness and memorable imagery. Together they showcase the anything-goes creativity that makes 80s Hong Kong cinema so much fun. The practical effects and inventive set pieces have a handmade quality that only adds to their charm. Overall, this is an excellent double feature for anyone who enjoys Hong Kong cinema at its strangest and most imaginative."
