Francis, a 115-year-old Yiddish vampire, still looks 35. He’s been roaming American backroads in his beat-up muscle car for decades, keeping to himself, and liking it that way. One day, a teenage kid, Jane, shows up. She says she’s his daughter, and she’s got the fangs to prove it. They go on the road, deciding whether to sink their teeth into family life.

"A great father daughter bonding vampire horror comedy. Not too many of those around. Great performances, legitimately funny script, and a cool car. What more could you want. Good commentary with both leads. Throws in a little hint of werewolf towards the end, so I'd love to see that brought into a sequel. Highly recommended."
"Blood Relatives takes a clever premise and turns it into an unexpectedly warm mix of vampire horror, road movie, and family drama. The story of a centuries-old vampire discovering that he has a teenage daughter gives the film plenty of opportunities to play with familiar genre conventions from a different angle. The comedy works particularly well because it grows naturally from the awkward father-daughter relationship rather than relying entirely on vampire jokes. Noah Segan brings a likable, slightly pathetic quality to the lead role, and his chemistry with Victoria Moroles gives the movie genuine heart beneath all the bloodletting. The cover artwork fits the film's quirky personality nicely and immediately communicates that this isn't meant to be a grim, traditional vampire movie. Overall, Blood Relatives is a fun and surprisingly sweet genre hybrid with a strong central relationship and enough horror elements to keep things interesting."
"I like Noah Segan a lot so I was glad he got to direct a film. The film itself is pleasant enough, offering a more grounded, lighthearted take on vampires through the lens of a Hallmark-esque family reconnection thing. It's fairly breezy to watch, offering easy-going dialog between the two enjoyable leads, though it does veer dangerously close to "quirk" territory that I just hate anymore. There's also that specific low-budget look and feel that a lot of Shudder stuff has that it doesn't manage to overcome, looking run of the mill rather than distinct. Its biggest issue is that it's too easygoing for its own good as the final third just doesn't have a hook at all, playing out like another second act to the film rather than a finale before it just kind of fizzles out"
"Great looking cover, even without the slip cover."
"Great premise . . dull horror flick. . 2 stars and one extra for the slip"
"This is another film that is light on the horror, but it is a good story about a vampire and meeting his daughter for the first time. It's also a road trip movie so it melds different genres. Worth a look."
"First time watch for me. Great vampire flick, pleasantly surprised. Super slipcover!"
"Enjoyed this one with a great edition also"
