One of my favorite W. A. V. E.
"One of my favorite W. A. V. E. flicks that I've watched, for whatever that's worth. Not for everyone! But if you can get on its wavelength, well worth the purchase."

Saturn's Core Audio & Video is a New Jersey based home video label devoted to releasing underground oddities and shot on video cinema on VHS, and now, blu-ray discs! In partnership with OCN Distribution, Saturn's Core will exhume forgotten or under-seen genre cinema from the 80s and 90s, with an emphasis on SOV horror features. Vinegar Syndrome’s sister company, OCN Distribution, is thrilled to be representing this diverse and unique home video line!
An innocent college prank turns deadly when a bevy of beautiful sorority girls accidentally shoot and kill their voyeuristic, Satan worhipping neighbor Hugo. But is he really dead? See what horrible fates await each member of the sorority when Hugo mysteriously returns from the grave seeking human sacrifices to sustain his eternal life. The innocent Kim quickly becomes the object of Hugo's obsession once he selects her as the ideal bride for his evil, demonic master Radu.
A benchmark for Gary Whitson and his New Jersey based, shot on video, custom movie studio W.A.V.E. Productions, Sorority Slaughter is a bewildering kaleidoscope of graphic gore, extraneous subplots, leering nudity, and the most inexplicably prolonged car washing scenes in cinema history. Initially funded as a carrying fetish custom, Whitson instead brazenly crafted a sorority house slasher epic that’s notable for featuring early on screen performances from some of the ‘90s most prolific and beloved indie screen queens including Tina Krause (Bad Biology), Pamela Sutch (Psycho Sisters), Laura Giglio (After Midnight), and Deana Demko (The Ironbound Vampire). Saturn’s Core is elated to present the Blu-Ray debut of W.A.V.E.’s Sorority Slaughter culled from the original S-VHS master, in addition to Whitson’s brain-melting sequel Sorority Slaughter 2 (1997) which reunites the bulk of the original cast!

"One of my favorite W. A. V. E. flicks that I've watched, for whatever that's worth. Not for everyone! But if you can get on its wavelength, well worth the purchase."
"a nice SOV flick but coulda been better!"
"Long scented of car washes and swimming and talking with the slasher elements condensed in the later half. It is a micro budget movie with Tina Krause in a early role"
"Slowly, slowly, slowly I am making my way through the W. A. V. E. films that Saturn’s Core are releasing. In many ways they are like alternative rock, drone-rock to be more precise. Because, where others would make the most of shower scenes, getting in there up and close and framing just so that nothing slips into frame that’s not to be there, Whitson and Longo take things one step further. They shoot the whole thing (Krause’s shower scene that is) through the shower curtain, and they keep that shot forever. It is hilarious in its own way, unlike the kills, which are really chip-chop done, and back to the drone. And I guess that’s kind of what makes these films so fascinating, like drone-rock they are immersive. I still can’t make up my mind if Whitson is lazily padding out his fetish videos the easy way to make duration, or if he’s simply a genius of a yet undiscovered S. O. V. vein of slow cinema. (P. S. SORORITY SLAUGHTER 2 is on the disc as an extra, so it's double the fun this time. )"
"Worth the watch if you like sov"
"Lots of great special features which is the usual for Saturns Core releases. I just find these Wave productions so fascinating, im glad theyre keeping a steady stream of them coming."
"So says one of the "sorority girls". I can't remember if it's the one involved in maybe the longest on screen car wash or the ten minute pool frolic session. The main feature has its charms, and the women are nice to look at, if you're amenable to these types in frosted denim shorts. But this feature is also frustratingly chaste on one of the key components of great SOV horror - nudity. Laugh (or cry) as you watch women shower while clutching giant towel over their chest (in the shower, under the water mind you). Watch women shower, but filmed through opaque curtains to blur everything. Watch fainted victims about to be slaughtered by the world's most respectful killer, who carefully pulls their top up just enough to reveal a bit of underboob but nothing more. Content wise it is a good disc with the special features. The overlong (but at least delivering on the visual eye candy) Sorority Slaughter 2 is there, and then the new 2012 footage shot for the re-edit of the main feature is nice as well. So overall with the nice looking slip and extras, I give it a 3."
"Awesome"

"SOV slasher fun. What else could you ask for from this title??"
