Founded in 2002 as one of the first-ever subscription film services with its DVD-of-the-Month Film Club, Film Movement is now a North American distributor of award-winning independent and foreign films based in New York City. In 2015, Film Movement launched the reissue label Film Movement Classics featuring new restorations released theatrically as well as on home video, with an emphasis on films by auteur directors such as Eric Rohmer, Peter Greenaway and Takeshi Kitano.

Dominic is a young man with a fetish… for himself. Nothing turns him on more than his own reflection, and he feeds his solitary obsession by posing for polaroid selfies. Following the death of his beloved grandmother, Dominic begins to unravel the hidden truth about his fractured past. His lesbian mother did not die in childbirth, and he has an identical twin brother, Daniel, who was secretly raised in a remote monastery. Reunited with his long-estranged family, Dominic becomes embroiled in a blasphemous web of sex, revenge and redemption.

Set in the afterglow of the sexual revolution, SAINT-NARCISSE is acclaimed filmmaker Bruce LaBruce's love letter to the psychosexual thrillers of the 1970s that “never fails to follow through on its scandalous promise” (The New York Times).

Masterpiece

"A blind buy victory! 'Dominic is a young man with a fetish. . . for himself'. Loved everything about this movie. The cinematography was amazing. Loved the scenes of the lead riding his motorcycle through the forest roads. The sepia toned dark scenes in the monastery remind me of a Rembrandt painting. Enjoyed the story and its melodrama and all the acting and directing. The director reminds me of of another gay director-Greg Araki. You can tell they are gay from the way they lovingly film men yet keep most of it repressed or on an undercurrent. . The slipcover is one of my favorites with embossed zipper. Included is a booklet with essay."

Oddly charming art-house ridiculousness

"A beautifully shot, retro-styled family drama that’s just a bit porny. A perfect fit for Vinegar Syndrome and Film Movement."

Interesting film, alluring visuals and

"Interesting film, alluring visuals and very much in a league of its own. Film students should check out to broaden their horizon. Fine Blu-ray that unfortunately has some banding and blocking."

Saint Narcisse

"Saint-Narcisse is one of Bruce LaBruce's most accessible films while still embracing the provocative themes that have defined his career. Blending dark comedy, melodrama, and psychosexual intrigue, the film delivers an entertaining story with gorgeous 1970s-inspired cinematography and an excellent dual performance from Félix-Antoine Duval. The outrageous premise never feels exploitative, instead unfolding with surprising warmth, humor, and emotional depth. This Blu-ray release is another strong presentation, featuring a sharp transfer that beautifully showcases the film's lush color palette and period production design. Audio is equally impressive, with clear dialogue and an immersive soundtrack. The supplements aren't extensive, but the commentary by LaBruce is thoughtful and engaging, offering valuable insight into the film's influences and production. Deleted scenes and the included essay provide worthwhile additions for fans. While a few more bonus features would have pushed this into five-star territory, this is still an excellent release of a daring, stylish, and unexpectedly heartfelt film. Highly recommended for fans of queer cinema and offbeat psychological dramas."

"Solid transfer and film. Slipcover is minimalist and fine for this release. More grounded than his other film The Visitor."
