Yellow Veil Pictures is a New York City and Los Angeles-based film sales and distribution company focusing exclusively on boundary pushing genre cinema, seeking to highlight filmmakers who exist on the cusp of commercial and arthouse cinema.

In this absurdist homage to 90’s basic cable TV thrillers, two hot INTERPOL agents uncover an international, interspecies mystery. A post-modern, soft-core fever dream.

Dreamy Nap Time

"I normally trust Yellow Veil’s curation, but this one fell a little flat for me. I was on this wavelength for a portion of the run time and really liked those bits. Doctor Beef is a great character. The extra interviews, especially with Schoenbrun, provide some good context for what I didn’t connect with though."

Heat and Hustle Given a Clean, Confident Revival

"Vinegar Syndrome’s 2024 Blu ray release of Dream Team gives this energetic slice of adult era comedy a level of polish it has never enjoyed before. The movie’s look has always leaned into glossy lighting, bright interiors, and a slightly heightened color palette that matches its playful, anything goes tone. On Blu ray, those choices feel sharper and more deliberate. The transfer brings out texture in clothing, set design, and makeup that older, softer presentations tended to blur. The film’s warm hues and punchy highlights come through with a stability that makes the whole production feel more intentional. The tribute included on the disc is short but sincere. It acknowledges the film’s place in its niche corner of underground cinema and highlights the personalities who shaped its mischievous charm. It is not a deep dive, but it adds context and affection, giving collectors a sense of the era and the people behind the camera. The cover artwork is one of the release’s strongest touches. Vinegar Syndrome leans into bold colors, crisp character placement, and a design that feels like a modernized riff on vintage poster art. It captures the film’s cheeky spirit without turning it into parody. On the shelf, it stands out as a confident, collectible piece rather than a simple reissue."

Idiosyncratic genius

"I love movies that don't fit into a box/cannot easily be categorised, and that most definitely applies to 'Dream Team'. Plays like a season of erotic, late night, 90s television cut up, screwed with, and remixed into a dreamy, experimental 90-minute pseudo mystery thriller. Big fan."

"Very strange film, in a good way of course! A lot of weird comedy-esque moments. I was never bored and was entertained!"

This Is A Pretty Cool 90's Thriller Homage!

"The artwork on this slipcover is pretty awesome! This comedy/thriller/mystery is a tribute to cheesy 90's thriller type movies! It is a very fun watch and keeps your interest throughout! As always, you also get the peerless VS audio and video restoration, making it jump off of the screen! Highly recommended!"

New and Trippy

"This is a very good title if you're looking for something new in story telling. It's pretty scatter brained, so fair warning if you're looking for a straight forward experience."

Dream Team (Yellow Veil Pictures)

"The Film: A gritty, surrealistic descent into the world of underground basketball, Dream Team (2023) is a dark, hypnotic thriller that merges sports, crime, and psychological horror. Director Noah Hutton crafts a uniquely unsettling vision of competition and obsession. The Blu-ray: Yellow Veil Pictures presents a stylishly packaged release with a stellar HD transfer that retains the film’s eerie, atmospheric cinematography. Extras include a filmmaker Q&A, behind-the-scenes footage, and a video essay on the film’s blend of genre elements. The slipcover artwork is sleek and moody, perfectly reflecting the film’s intense, dreamlike tone. A must-own for fans of experimental indie cinema."

Dream Team

"a great indie surreal comedy that looks great with standard amount of special features if you are into smaller indie films that try some experimental approach this might be for you"

Michael C. (3/5)

Another weird one

"This does kind of capture the feel of a 90's, trying to be sexy and mysterious, cable show. It has that going for it. Unfortunately not much else. It's too odd to really hold interest for me. Some of the performers are compelling, but the movie didn't really get off the ground. I think the episode breaks and credits weren't necessary and didn't really help an already hard to get into film. Like a lot of these types of movies, I think you could cut a very interesting short or two out of this. But to sit through in one sitting will probably be more than most can accomplish."
