Umbrella Entertainment has been a 100% Australian-owned and operated distributor for over 20 years. Their vast home entertainment catalogue features an extensive range of Australian classic, cult and exploitation films restored under the eyes of the original filmmakers. All sourced from national archives, underground collectors and local basements.

Three spunky teenage girls decide to ditch their parents and private school for a long weekend getaway in Portsea. But, on the way to the seaside resort town they encounter two menacing black panel vans – and their bid for a harmless adventure turns into a chilling white line pursuit that climaxes at the schoolgirls’ remote beach house. Thrown into this nightmare is Pamela, a stunning blonde who has defrauded her employee out of $20,000. On the run and lying low, she joins the girls in a terrifying battle for survival as the terror, suspense and body count rises.

Released in the U.S. under the far more generic title Fair Game, Desolation Angels boasts bitumen-burning chases, a harrowing game of cat-and-mouse and star turns from Kerry Mack (Hostage) and the alluring Karen West (1980 Playmate of the Year) – accompanied by classic tracks from Cold Chisel.                             Enjoyable film, amazing special features

                            "A strange film - very watchable, even enjoyable, but every plot point starts up then just disappears. There are no explanations for any of the dead ends, though - in its way - that keeps it interesting. It’s fun visually, with really, really bad 1981 hairdos. The special features - the video essay about Aussie cars as villains and the compilation of trailers are - are fantastic. Slipcover has nicer art than the disc insert."

                            "I love weird little movies like this! The characters are very memorable and I can vividly recall their faces and personalities long after watching it. There are a few surprises in this film and some very dark moments too. It's not a cheerful film, but if you like gritty films with dark moments then this will likely appeal. It's not without issues, but I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. Also, what a great slipcover!"

                            Fun little Aussie action thriller

                            "A group of girls being chased by bad guys in weird looking cars is pretty much all the plot we get here. An added woman brings in a little more plot along with the only nudity. A few good stunts and good performances make for a fun movie. I like the slip art which better represents the film's content, unlike the original artwork featured on the cover which makes it seem like a sex comedy. Another winner."

                            Oh that new slipcover art is great I wish the movie were something like it!

                            "The synopsis sounds like a slasher and the original poster art suggest a sex comedy right out of the 80s. The film ends up being more a quiet travel picture. Emphasis on a lot of vacation time. It does start to take on those Ozploitation staples here and there but only around the periphery of a kind of sluggish hang-out movie."
