"Pretty crazy Turkish adventure fantasy flick. Choppy with this being the export edit that lost about 30 minutes, and the dub is typical. But it has some fun sequences, and some really beautiful women to keep your attention. I wonder what the full length version under the title "Kiliç Aslan" would be like."

"This film is a lot of fun. It has such crazy, over the top fight scenes. The plot is a lot better than what I was expecting too. AGFA does such a great job at finding, restoring, and presenting this whacky, fun kung fu films. The bonus movie is even more insane and I might have liked it better."

"The Sword and the Claw is wonderfully wild Turkish exploitation cinema, packed with endless brawls, exaggerated performances and a hero raised by lions who later receives deadly metal claws. It is crude, chaotic and frequently ridiculous—but also extremely entertaining. The transfer comes from the only surviving 35mm theatrical print, so scratches, damage and unstable moments remain. Nevertheless, the colors and detail are surprisingly respectable, and the imperfect presentation only adds to the authentic grindhouse atmosphere. The included martial-arts feature The Brawl Busters and the trailer collection make the package even more enjoyable. Another impressive rescue of genuinely obscure cult cinema by AGFA and Vinegar Syndrome."
