CYBER VENGEANCE is part of our Vinegar Syndrome Archive collection, celebrating forgotten cinematic oddities from the video store era. This collection was inspired by our own brick & mortar video store, The Archive in Bridgeport, CT.

Unique to this line, each hand numbered limited edition release will come fitted in a specially designed, bottom loading VHS inspired slipcase, while also including a double-sided poster.

These releases will ONLY be available on our website and at participating indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them. This slipcase edition (designed by Haunt Love) is strictly limited to 5,000 units and may (but probably not) be followed by a standard edition in the future.

In the year 2005, the prison system has been completely privatized and cyber prisons have become the new means for housing the guilty. The bodies of inmates are kept in suspended animation while their minds are kept in a virtual reality prison. Business tycoon, R.D. Crowley (Robert Davi) has found a way to capitalize on these virtual prisons, by allowing rich men to pay in order to engage in a form of virtual reality hunting that has real-life consequences for the inmates. Will (J. Gregory Smith), a guard at one of these prisons, soon finds himself coerced into one these virtual cat and mouse games. Armed with his knowledge of history along with his expert skills in virtual reality combat, Will must work with the inmates in order to save their lives and escape from the prison before it's too late.

Reviews

I'd like to play a game. . .

"This is a film you'll appreciate more after watching the supplemental "making of" documentary. It's absolutely amazing how much value the filmmakers were able to squeeze out of great locations, inventive special effects, and Robert Davi (sans good cigar). Features the second best sex-with-a-couch scene in modern times."

Very Good Newer Style Action Flick!

"The art on the slipcover is really cool on this fun and totally engaging action flick! It kept my interest all the way through! The peerless VS restoration process was on full display with stellar sound and picture! Thank you, VS, for continuing to lovingly restore and release so many wonderful films from every conceivable genre! You are keeping physical media alive in this streaming world we now live in! Highly recommended!"

Paul K. (5/5)

Middling cyber/VR inspired '90s action

"OK entertainment sold to me in exemplary fashion. Robert Davi slums a bit. The action is quite good, the different locations too."

Tim V. (3/5)

Nice action from the 90's rental staple

"Schlock art slipcover so that is filled in About the movie a good nice 90's movie with diffrent time lines not a big block buster like timecop but fun non the less"

Brett C. (4/5)

Hesitated quite a bit to

"Hesitated quite a bit to snap this one up but finally gave in and it's a fun adventure but not as engrossing as I hoped it would be. Not a case of regretting the watch (those are rare on my end) so fans should not be let down and the VSA packaging is always a nice addition."

Patrick L. (2/5)

Fantastic VSA

"Fantastic sci-fi action VSA in great packaging, totally recommended!"

Jakob P. (5/5)

Very good fit for the VSA line

"This is a fun mid-90s action film that I'd never seen before, but the movie had a fun concept that I enjoyed it's execution well enough."
