Great package, less than great movie
"The transfer is good, the movie is ok. It's german humour, but it takes itself so seriously that for the most part I just couldn't follow. I think it's worth a watch, but not as great as I hoped it would be!"
This special limited edition 3-disc 4K UHD/Blu-ray set comes with a spot gloss hard slipcase + slipcover combo (designed by Robert Sammelin) and is limited to 7,000 units. It is only available on our website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.
In one of the seediest parts of Midtown, Manhattan, strange things are going down at the aptly-named Hotel Quickie. The male patrons, who use the establishment as a playground for their every sexual whim, are mysteriously getting their genitals bitten off, with bizarre claims abounding about a carnivorous condom on the loose. Assigned to the peculiar case, Sicilian-born cop Luigi Mackeroni is initially skeptical - but the matter soon becomes intensely personal when, during an encounter at the hotel with a young rent boy, he himself is attacked by one of the man-eating prophylactics, losing a testicle in the process. It quickly transpires that the Big Apple is being besieged by an entire army of ravenous rubbers, and Mackeroni must work to crack the case before the emasculation epidemic escalates!
Based on the best-selling adult comic books by Germany’s Ralf König, Martin Walz’s KILLER CONDOM is a delirious horror-comedy in the vein of Frank Henenlotter by way of film noir, and featuring gag-inducing special effects by notorious splatter master Jörg Buttgereit (Nekromantik, Schramm) along with Academy Award-winner H. R. Giger (Alien, Species) serving as creative consultant. Finally unleashed in its never-before-released director’s cut (in addition to the theatrical version) and newly restored in 4K from its original camera negative by the mad celluloid scientists at Vinegar Syndrome, KILLER CONDOM crawls up from the sewers in its worldwide UHD debut - endowed with a girthy array of both brand new and archival extras, offering film fans plenty to sink their teeth into!

"Worth the price for the slipcase alone. Very funny German Horror"
"Fun low budget "horror" film , if you like "bad Movies" this is well worth the price. Very attractive picture and good amount of extra features."
"You've seen Gingerdead Man, probably Evil Bong, but have you ever seen Killer Condom? Quite strange compared to Troma's other releases, but a great entry nonetheless. The restoration is pristine. The main character's name is Luigi Mackeroni. You should definitely see this."
"I love Vinegar Syndrome for doing this movie. My dvd copy of the Troma release is long in the tooth and the improvements VS made across the board are excellent."
"Was thinking this was going to be Troma-levels of tackiness, but it was surprisingly a pop-art noir existential nightmare. Loved it."
"Gorgeous 4K transfers on movies you never thought you'd see look this good. I’m in love with the artwork. It’s hilarious. Vinegar Syndrome is the real deal!"
"Killer Condom is a funny mix of B-movie with neo-noir and crime thrillers, full of comedic moments because of the monster title and what he does with his victims. The transfer from VS is one of the best from their releases and the extras are marvelous."
"This film feels rather niche: queer detective film about killer "alien" condoms that fumbles sex and sexuality in a rather clumsy way in its attempts to be funny. The film stock is beautiful and the dialogue is B for sure. Regardless, I found it charming. The 90s vibes are strong and the cast does well with what they have. Bummed it wasn't sexier and that the drag numbers were so undynamic. It was fun watching a German language film take place in NYC. Nice cinematography of the city for the most part, cheesy sound effects and what the heck did HR Giger do? Have a phone conversation with them? His "creative consultation" credit obviously involved no design input lmao. As a fan of bad films this one definitely fits the bill. Repeat viewings? Not sure yet. . . Interest in securing the comic book source material? Yes! Wish they had included a booklet with a taste of that perhaps."
"A wacky deluxe release for a crazy movie and good shipping love the slipcover and print"
