Vanessa Lutz' life is a mess. Her mother, a prostitute, and father, an abusive drunk, have been hauled off to jail. With nowhere to live, Vanessa has no choice but to move in with her grandmother. Hitting the road to granny's house, she quickly encounters the silver-tongued Bob Wolverton, who offers to give her a lift. However, what Vanessa doesn't realize is that Bob is the notorious I-5 Killer; a vicious murderer who preys on young, female hitchhikers, and soon finds herself face-to-face with a real "Big Bad Wolf." Using all her wits, she sets in motion a cunning trap which all comes to a grisly head in this modern take on Little Red Riding Hood...
Among the most notorious and jaw dropping "mainstream" movies of the 90s, Matthew Bright's (Ted Bundy) FREEWAY has earned a reputation as a neo-exploitation classic and critically acclaimed indie thriller thanks to its unhinged violence, sharply written dialogue, and general non-stop barrage on good taste, all wrapped up as one truly twisted fairytale. Starring Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Wild) alongside film and TV superstar Kiefer Sutherland (The Lost Boys), and co-starring Emmy nominee Bokeem Woodbine (Dead Presidents), along with acclaimed character actors Wolfgang Bodison (A Few Good Men), and Dan Hedaya (The Usual Suspects), plus a special appearance from Brooke Shields (Pretty Baby), Vinegar Syndrome is thrilled to present the worldwide UHD and BD debut of FREEWAY, newly restored in 4K from its long lost 35mm original camera negative and presented fully uncut with two minutes of additional violence and dialogue deemed too extreme for its original run!

Reviews
Freeway
"Okay I wasn’t expecting it to be this good, it took some turns I wasn’t expecting at all. I can’t wait to watch the special features now especially the commentary tracks. I know they say freeway 2 isn’t as good but I have to get it now just as a companion piece"

Freeway 4k
"This movie was fantastic sleaze and I loved every second of it. From the slipcover to the extra bonus features, VS knocked this release out of the park. The performances were perfectly campy throughout and the look of the 4k transfer was prestine."
— Michael M. (5/5)
Reese Witherspoon at her finest!
"After reading some reviews on 'Freeway', I kinda had an idea of what I was in for. After watching the film, my expectations were blown away. This film hits the ground running and doesn't let up until the credits are rolling. Plenty of hilarious moments as well as a plethora of violent/dark moments to round out the movie. Can't wait to watch the sequel!"
— Christopher A. (5/5)
Vinegar Syndrome did a remarkable
"Vinegar Syndrome did a remarkable job on this UHD! I'm upgrading from an old DVD, and the difference in video and audio quality is jaw-dropping. This 4K disc, by any measure, is a revelation. I was drawn into the movie like I never had been before! Whether you're a fan of the film, or if you've never seen it (where've you been?), this release will leave you floored."

Okay Bob
"I waited on this for too long. This took me by the surprise. I was expecting a fun 90's thriller but this was so unhinged, gritty, over the top, dark and hilarious. Great stuff. VinSyn done superb job here once again, very filmic looking picture."
— Juhana A. (5/5)
Dark reality but entertaining
"A blind buy for me but have always enjoyed Witherspoon’s & Sutherland’s movies I’ve seen – now including this film also. Have yet to watch all the special features, but glad to see a variety of new and old. Lastly, I appreciate the reversible sleeve artwork of the original poster."
— Jonathan L. (4/5)
A lesser known classic from the 90’s
"This movie was a good surprise the first time I’ve seen it. I wasn’t expecting it to be nearly this good. I recently decided to upgrade my old DVD with this new presentation and I am perfectly happy with the quality of the transfer. The extras are also worth it, but just for the image quality this is a great purchase. I would highly recommend it."
— Francis V. (5/5)

"Oliver Stone's involvement really beefed up the casting on this scuzzy Little Red Riding Hood homage"
— Matthew C. (5/5)

Little red riding hood. . . for adults
"This movie didn't get the attention it deserved! A+ actors, well written and well directed! It's part offensive, part comedic. It's a masterpiece I will rewatch many times."
— Luc T. (5/5)
