Five men, all strangers, board a carriage on a train from London to the town of Bradley, where they're joined at the last minute by a sixth - a mysterious, black-clad older gentleman who introduces himself as Doctor Schreck (German for “terror”, as he informs them). Bearing a stack of Tarot cards, Doctor Schreck claims to have the ability to read fortunes, and although some of the group are initially skeptical, it’s not long before his fellow passengers are asking him each in turn to relate what the future holds in store. What follows is five fiendish tales of terror, as the doctor reveals the various dreadful fates that are to befall his traveling companions - which include bone-chilling encounters with werewolves, killer plants, voracious vampires and all other manner of horrors!
The first in a line of anthology films to be produced by Milton Subotsky and Max Rosenberg’s celebrated Amicus Productions, DR. TERROR’S HOUSE OF HORRORS is a frightfully entertaining classic of 60s British horror which reunites genre legends Peter Cushing as the titular doctor and Christopher Lee, who delivers a memorable turn as a scathing art critic terrorized by a disembodied hand! Helmed by Academy Award® winner Freddie Francis and featuring an early appearance by Donald Sutherland (Don’t Look Now), Vinegar Syndrome conjures up the 4K UHD debut of DR. TERROR’S HOUSE OF HORRORS, presented from a brand new 4K restoration of its 35mm camera negative and stacked with extras both old and new!

Reviews
Fun anthology, looks great
"Fun, british "horror" anthology of 5 tales, all at least somewhat charming for what they are, with a spooky traincar ride as framing device. Plus a great cast. There's also a mountain of extras in the form of interviews and appreciations (more than I could get through), plus a commentary I skipped for now but would like to return to. Slipcover, interior, and disc art look good, especially the spot-gloss or embossing (?) on the skull's eye sockets, but would've love some original poster art on disc or as reverse case art."

Underrated Amicus Anthology
"I'm already a big fan of Amicus productions, so this one is a real treat because I'm also a fan of the anthologies. It has everything we love about the studio: a stellar cast, a gothic atmosphere, and a variety of monsters!"
— Steven E. (5/5)
Fantastic horror anthology!!
"This is a definitive horror masterpiece, full of great actors here and awesome stories being told. The 4k transfer is off the hook and the blu-ray extras are impressive, as always from Vinegar Syndrome."

Great Anthology!
"This is a great ‘anthology’ film. Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Donald Sutherland, et al provide wonderful performances. A great film to watch on a spooky Saturday night!"

Amicus' first anthology
"Amicus' first horror production was also their first anthology. And while it's not the best in the series, it's still a pretty entertaining affair with a great cast. Amicus may have produced low budget films but they somehow managed to punch above their weight. Plus, who doesn't want to see Technicolor films in 4K? Excellent transfer, a nice package all the way around."
— Michael C. (5/5)
