"If you love boutique labels then you need this documentary in your collection. If it wasn’t for these companies we wouldn’t have these wild and obscure movies on amazing restored physical media."
"I really enjoyed this doc. Hearing from both big fans of boutique collecting and the ones who provide us with these awesome restorations was really insightful. It’s cool to get a glimpse at what their processes are like and how they got started. Also the bonus features are great too! I love Something Weird so the tour of their shop was a nice treat."
"Aside from being a small documentary about home video and the movie rental market, it talks about how a lot of boutique independent labels are keeping movies alive for a new generation of fans."
"As a former projectionist and film student during the 35mm era, film preservation and film history have always been important to me, so I was excited to see this pop up for sale. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but this seemed a little light. . . not the deep dive into film preservation I was hoping for. There are glimpses of a much better documentary to be made throughout. I loved the behind the scenes footage, but some of the talking head stuff was lacking in any substance. I think this is a good first draft, but could use a little more focus."
"This was a pretty solid little documentary which goes behind the scenes of the boutique labels we love, from the packaging to the special features it’s an interesting if not too informative watch."
"A nice documentary that shows off the niche collector market of boutique bluray labels. Showcasing the birth and beginning of several major labels back to what some say the 1st "criterion" to the newer ones of the last few years from all sides of the world. If your a fan already most information might already be known to you, but still a fun watch to waste alil over an hour."
"I've been waiting to see this documentary for a long time. Thank you so much for releasing it. It's nice for us collectors to have a voice"
