Love on Delivery is pure Stephen Chow chaos and I loved it. He plays this hopeless delivery guy who falls for Christy Chung, gets humiliated, then somehow convinces himself he can become a martial arts badass with help from a completely fraudulent kung-fu master. From there it just keeps getting more ridiculous. 😂
The comedy is what makes it for me. Chow’s timing is fantastic, Ng Man-tat is hilarious, and the movie keeps bouncing between romance, slapstick, martial arts, and completely unhinged pop-culture gags without ever slowing down. It’s goofy as ****, but there’s enough heart underneath all the nonsense that I was actually rooting for him.
The Blu-ray looks really nice too. Vinegar Syndrome restored it in 2K from the original 35mm camera negative, and the colors and detail come through beautifully while still keeping a natural film look. The commentary, Lik-Chi Lee interview, Grady Hendrix essay, and other extras make this a really strong VSA package.
And that VHS-style slipcase? Absolutely killer. Funny movie, great presentation, tons of personality — easy 5/5 for me. 😁

Love on Delivery is a fantastic Stephen Chow martial-arts comedy, and this VSA release gives it the kind of care Hong Kong catalog titles deserve. The underdog setup is simple in the best way: a delivery boy trying to prove himself, a fake kung-fu master, romantic embarrassment, and a tournament that lets the whole thing explode into slapstick, pop-culture gags, and ridiculous fight business. Chow’s timing is already so sharp here, and the movie has that zany Lik-Chi Lee energy where the jokes, action, and romance keep bouncing off each other. The 2K restoration from the original camera negative looks vibrant, and the Frank Djeng/F. J. DeSanto commentary, Lik-Chi Lee interview, Grady Hendrix video essay, Mike White featurette, reversible art, and newly translated subtitles make this a really satisfying package.
