Joe and his girlfriend travel to Nepal to escape their busy lives. However, their vacation takes an unwelcome turn when Joe is injured while on safari and goes missing. Once found, he is brought to a hospital where a mysterious woman tells him that he's been chosen to be the leader of a mystical tribe in order to fight against an evil sorcerer. Upon returning to Hong Kong, Joe tries to forget about his ordeal. However, the mysterious woman tracks him down, and the two soon fall madly in love. Unfortunately, the sorcerer is also in Hong Kong searching for the mysterious woman, and Joe soon finds himself embroiled in a savage fight between good and evil.

"This set was my first entry into a CATIII movie, with The Seventh Curse, and it didn't disappoint. The Seventh Curse was fun all around. Loved the mix of action sequences and horror elements. The story was pretty good, and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the weird and unexpected moments. I give this movie alone a 4/5. The Witch From Nepal was also a pleasant surprise, mostly because I heard that it was pretty bad, but it turned out to still be a fun watch for me. Some scenes kind of reminded me of what you'd see in an anime. The pacing was a bit slow, but the mix of different genres was interesting to see. Not a lot of action on this one, but when it shows up, it's actually pretty good. I give this one a 3/5. I also enjoyed the extras and the essays that give insight into the Wisely series that inspired the Seventh Curse and other movies."

Hong Kong Horror by way of Dr Jones
"Indiana Jones with horror elements (monsters), kung fu, gore, nudity, and all the Hong Kong insanity you'd expect to see. Tons of fun and a great bonus feature to toss in with any Shaw collection or Hong Kong horror that you may have already on your shelf. Looks amazing and I'm looking forward to the second feature, but Seventh Curse is worth a pick up alone."

You Need The Seventh Curse
"This is so fun. Goopy special effects, great action, hilariously over the top, a genuinely fun story and well acted. The Seventh Curse is like if Sam Raimi directed an R Rated Indiana Jones for Golden Harvest. An all timer for those who love the “these HK movies sure are crazy” variety, 5/5 Witch of Nepal on its own is solid but really pales when put up against Seventh Curse. But is worth a watch and a 3/5 for me. I got the hard slip and it’s just okay art wise but the included book is GREAT and looks very cool."

"Two 1986 Hong Kong genre films that have absolutely no business being this entertaining, now making their US Blu-ray debut in a two-disc set. The Seventh Curse alone packs Chow Yun-fat, Maggie Cheung, blood curses, and practical creature effects into 88 minutes like a clown car of inspired chaos. Witch From Nepal is the quieter of the two, but this is an essential double feature regardless."

"An amazing gonzo, over the top, tremendously exciting, imaginative and entertainingly balls to the wall kung fu horror film. One of the best of the Wisely Cycle of films. Director Lam Ngai Kai is my new hero filmmaker. He should be more recognized in the international genre film scene. I am just realizing how many of his films I had enjoyed over the years. This new remaster looks amazing! I haven't watched Witch From Nepal yet but really looking forward to it."
